The breakfast at Gracie Mansion was organized by Zohran Mamdani and the Global Progress Foundation, which is chaired by Pedro Sánchez, to advocate for an economy oriented toward the majority.
La Vanguardia said the event would be held at 14:30 Spanish time and that Sánchez would speak in a panel under the title “Building an Economy for the Majority.”
La Vanguardia also said Sánchez and Mamdani share positions on Israel’s actions in Gaza, which they describe as a “genocide” in the Israeli offensive.
La Vanguardia reported that both leaders reject pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump to substantially increase European countries’ military spending and express concern about rising costs and the housing problem.
