Pezeshkian Exchanges Eid Al-Adha Greetings With Malaysia’s Anwar Ibrahim, Invites Tehran Visit

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian exchanged Eid al-Adha greetings in phone calls with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday, emphasizing the necessity of strengthening unity and convergence and developing bilateral ties among Islamic countries.

Pezeshkian congratulated the Malaysian government and people on Eid al-Adha and called for continued economic and political consultations, while also praising Anwar’s firm stance against the US-Israeli war of aggression on Iran.

In the same conversation, Pezeshkian invited Anwar to visit Tehran to follow up on joint agreements and expand bilateral cooperation.

A separate telephone conversation on May 26 saw Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and Pezeshkian exchange Eid al-Adha congratulations and reaffirm Azerbaijan-Iran solidarity, with Aliyev noting that Azerbaijan and Iran “always stand by each other in both good and difficult times.”

On the eve of Eid al-Adha, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian spoke by phone with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, congratulating Egypt’s government and people and describing the grand rites of Hajj as “an unparalleled display of unity and solidarity among the Islamic Ummah.”

Pezeshkian stressed the importance of harnessing that capacity to serve the common interests of Muslim countries and expressed hope that the Eid blessings would enhance security, welfare, and health for Muslim peoples, especially Iran and Egypt.

He also referred to “the unceasing and anti-human crimes of the Zionist regime against the oppressed people of Gaza,” urging unity and practical cohesion of the Muslim Ummah and translating Hajj teachings into support for the Palestinian cause and the oppressed people of Gaza.

In the call, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s determination to strengthen fraternal relations with all Muslim countries, including Iran, and called Eid al-Adha “a symbol of unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah.”

The same report said Pezeshkian and Anwar Ibrahim emphasized strengthening cooperation across the Islamic world and expanding bilateral relations between Tehran and Kuala Lumpur during a phone conversation held on the occasion of Eid al-Adha earlier on Tuesday.

Mehr also reported that Pezeshkian and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed their commitment to deepening trade ties and pursuing joint efforts to restore regional peace in a diplomatic phone call marking Eid al-Adha on Tuesday.

Beyond bilateral outreach, Mehr said Pezeshkian congratulated Iraq’s government and people in separate phone calls with Iraqi President Nizar Amidi and Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, and it listed additional leaders who sent Eid greetings to Iran, including the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Sultan of Oman.
