Kraken Prop adds S&P 500

US-based crypto exchange Kraken added an S&P 500 perpetual product to its proprietary trading program, Kraken Prop, giving funded traders round-the-clock exposure to the US equity benchmark. Finanzen.net said the product is structured as a perpetual priced off an index oracle tracking the S&P 500, rather than a standardized futures contract, meaning it has no expiration date or rollover requirement. The S&P 500 joins the Nasdaq 100 as the second traditional market available through Kraken Prop, with Kraken planning to add commodities as part of a broader multi-asset rollout.

Kraken said traders can access the S&P 500 market across Kraken Prop’s evaluation and funded accounts with up to 5x leverage and a maximum notional exposure of $1 million. Finanzen.net added that evaluation plans start at $20, with funded account sizes ranging from $5,000 to $200,000, and it described the program as letting traders qualify to trade with Kraken capital if they meet requirements.

Rules, signals, and next steps

Kraken’s blog said, “Starting today, you can submit trade signals on the S&P 500,” and it instructed users to search “SP” in the app to find the market. In the same post, Kraken said the S&P 500 is “not a standardized futures contract,” and it described it as “a perpetual priced off an index oracle that tracks the same 500 large-cap US companies as the benchmark everyone already watches.” The blog laid out Kraken Prop’s structure as Starter, Intermediate, and Advanced eval plans with wallet sizes $5K–$200K, entry “from $20,” and a profit split of 80–90%.

It also said payouts to a trader’s Kraken wallet typically arrive within 24 hours and that the max daily loss is 3%, while noting that the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 are the first two markets in a broader multi-asset build-out with commodities next on the roadmap. Kraken further stated that “Most futures-prop platforms tie you to exchange session hours,” while Kraken Prop “does not,” and it said the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 are “live alongside” each other “around the clock.”
