Industrial strikes, power cut
Russia launched overnight strikes on Ukraine’s industrial heartland, killing four people in Dnipro and injuring six, Ukrainian officials said on Tuesday. Oleksandr Hanzha said on Telegram that Russia simultaneously hit industrial enterprises in Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and Pavlohrad in the southeastern Dnipropetrovsk region. An attack on an energy facility in the northern Chernihiv region cut electricity supplies to nearly 100,000 consumers, an electricity distributor said.
Ukraine’s air force said the barrage included an unspecified number of Oniks anti-ship and ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles and 212 drones. Russia’s defence ministry said its forces hit industrial and military facilities in Ukraine, targeting fuel and energy sector targets, port infrastructure and vessels serving the Ukrainian military.

Sergii Koretskyi said on Telegram that "Russia deliberately targets businesses, farms, warehouses, railways, energy facilities and residential buildings," as the strikes unfolded. The Straits Times said Russia deployed missiles, drones and artillery at four districts, killing four people and injuring six in Dnipro, where a business and warehouse premises were badly damaged. The Russian Defence Ministry confirmed attacks on Ukraine’s metals, chemicals, energy and arms industries, saying cruise missiles and combat drones were used in addition to missiles.
Volodymyr Zelenskiy said he met French President Emmanuel Macron and that they spoke "primarily about security and the winter support package for Ukraine". Macron said he pressed Trump on supplying defensive weapons systems to Kyiv, and he said the leaders discussed "the need to help our Ukrainian friends faster and more strongly in terms of (missile) interceptors".

Naftogaz said at least five ballistic missiles had hit idle technological facilities at an oil and gas site in the central region of Poltava, and it said the attack caused critical damage and "in effect makes it impossible to restore and operate the facility." The Straits Times said Russia’s defence ministry said its forces hit an oil refinery in the city of Kremenchuk in the Poltava region. Oleksandr Hanzha said on Telegram that the Dnipropetrovsk region is home to machine building, steel-making and other major production, placing industrial output at the center of the overnight campaign.
