Crash in Ganderkesee
Two men died on July 25 after a small private plane crashed into the roof of a house in northwestern Germany, police said.

The light aircraft came down in a residential area of Ganderkesee, near Oldenburg, striking the pitched roof of a house head-on.
Police initially reported one occupant, men aged 65 and 77 from Bremen, had died and one was missing, before later confirming both men had lost their lives.
The Delmenhorst police department said that following "lengthy and complex recovery operations for the plane wreckage", the wreckage embedded in the roof was removed and residents who had been evacuated were able to return to their homes.
Investigation and evacuations
Authorities opened an investigation to determine the cause of the accident after the crash in Ganderkesee, near Oldenburg, in the northwestern part of Germany.
CBS News said the plane was carrying two people, and that for reasons still being investigated the small plane lost altitude and crashed into the roof of a single-family home in a residential neighborhood in Ganderkesee.
Police said residents of the house were not at home at the time of the crash, and residents within a radius of 100 meters of the incident site were evacuated.
The Telegraph reported that a crisis-intervention team was called to the scene to provide support for people who witnessed the crash or were in the vicinity of the accident site, and that police have begun an investigation.
What police confirmed
Delmenhorst police confirmed in the evening that both occupants had died, after earlier reports of one death and one missing person.

TF1 Info said the crash happened Saturday 25 July in a residential area of Ganderkesee, near Oldenbourg, with the light aircraft percuting de plein fouet the pitched roof of a house.
The Straits Times reported that the wreckage embedded in the roof was removed and residents who had been evacuated were able to return to their homes.
Gulf News added that authorities said there was no danger to the general public and that for safety reasons the power supply to the street was temporarily cut off.
