Solana Foundation Launches Open-Source Solana DvP With J.P. Morgan Input For Seconds-Scale Settlement
Solana DvP is an open-source framework enabling atomic on-chain delivery-versus-payment for institutions. JPMorgan contributed input on institutional settlement requirements but does not operate Solana DvP.

DvP Aims for Seconds
The Solana Foundation launched Solana DvP, an open-source delivery-versus-payment program that lets institutions settle both legs of a trade atomically on-chain, with finality in seconds instead of days.
Catherine Gu, head of product for digital assets at the Solana Foundation, said the program provides institutions with one open standard across the Solana ecosystem, on public infrastructure, with finality in seconds instead of days.

J.P. Morgan contributed input on institutional settlement practices and requirements, and Rhodel D'Souza, head of markets digital assets at J.P. Morgan, framed the effort as a shared, open standard for atomic delivery-versus-payment.
The program is released under the MIT license and is designed as a reusable standard rather than a one-off contract, with isolated escrow and enforced deadlines.
The Foundation said Solana DvP has undergone external security audits and is ready for use with real funds, while it plans to add privacy so settlements can be private and confidential.
Atomic Settlement Mechanics
Solana DvP is built so that the asset and cash legs complete simultaneously or not at all, and the program replaces bespoke smart contracts that institutional on-chain trades have typically relied on. The program’s design uses a settlement_authority address allowed to atomically settle a trade, and either counterparty, or the authority via a cancel instruction, can abort before settlement and recover its funded leg. CreateDvp rejects an expiry timestamp more than one year past creation, bounding how long escrow rent can stay locked, and the system can prevent settlement before a specified earliest time.
The program supports SPL Token and Token-2022, including extensions that regulated issuers rely on such as permanent delegate, pausable tokens and transfer hooks. The Foundation’s documentation also says DvP contains no order book, price discovery, matching, netting or partial fills, and it does not perform KYC or holder-eligibility checks either.

Institutional Adoption Stakes
Solana DvP targets banks and other financial institutions by offering a standardized way to execute delivery-versus-payment trades on a public blockchain, with the Foundation positioning it as a replacement for bespoke smart contracts. The launch arrives as Solana courts traditional finance, and BlackRock launched a tokenized money market fund in August that records ownership on Solana alongside Ethereum, structured to qualify as a reserve asset under the GENIUS Act. Kraken used the network to offer tokenized U.S. stocks to overseas customers through its xStocks product, and settlement infrastructure like DvP is aimed at deepening Solana’s position by giving regulated players a trusted way to settle on-chain.
The Foundation said the program is out under the MIT license and that any two counterparties can use it with any settlement agent, whether a bank, a custodian or an exchange. The program’s public record does not yet show a settlement, and the Foundation’s own technical guide warns that the reference implementation figures are for exploration and educational purposes only, not production without comprehensive security audits, key management, regulatory compliance review, legal consultation and testing.
