StablecoinX appoints Christopher Jensen as CEO, effective immediately. Jensen is a former Franklin Templeton digital assets executive.

Jensen takes helm
StablecoinX appointed Christopher Jensen, a former Franklin Templeton digital asset executive, as its chief executive officer, effective immediately, putting him in charge of the largest corporate holder of Ethena’s ENA token. Jensen succeeds Ted Chen, who led StablecoinX through its public listing in June and will continue as chairman of the company’s board. StablecoinX trades on Nasdaq under the ticker USDE and is focused on the Ethena ecosystem, where Ethena issues USDe, a synthetic dollar that ranks as the fifth-largest stablecoin with nearly $4.4 billion in circulation, according to DefiLlama data.
StablecoinX says it holds about 3.03 billion ENA tokens, roughly 20% of the token’s total supply, which the company says makes it ENA’s largest corporate holder. The leadership change arrives about a week after Ethena launched Ethena Pay, a self-custodial app that lets users spend, save and transfer its USDe synthetic dollar.

Market and governance
StablecoinX’s ENA position is framed as governance-linked because ENA gives holders voting rights over changes to the protocol, while the company’s treasury is described as anchored by approximately 3.03 billion ENA tokens. Ted Chen said, "Since co-founding StablecoinX, I have been looking for a leader who could focus on the Company’s next phase of growth and credibly operate in three worlds at once: institutional asset management, the digital asset ecosystem, and the public markets," as he handed day-to-day leadership to Jensen. Ethena Labs founder and Chief Executive Officer Guy Young said, "Christopher has the perfect experience to lead the business in its next phase of growth with a deep understanding of both traditional capital markets and onchain finance."
On the token side, Cointelegraph cited CoinGecko data saying ENA remains down about 20% year to date but has rebounded sharply in recent weeks, gaining more than 80% over the past month to trade around $0.16. Cointelegraph also tied the timing to Ethena’s product push, noting that the appointment comes about a week after Ethena launched Ethena Pay.

Volatility backdrop
While StablecoinX and Ethena leadership shifted, Crypto Briefing described Bitcoin options pricing as unusually calm, with at-the-money implied volatility sitting around 37%. Crypto Briefing said data from Glassnode put the 1-week ATM IV at 37.39% and the 1-month ATM IV at 37.69% as of September 6. The same analysis said the volatility smile persists, with out-of-the-money options carrying higher implied volatility than at-the-money counterparts, and it noted that most activity is concentrated on Deribit.
Crypto Briefing also contrasted the current regime with earlier in 2026, when ATM IV spiked to roughly 65% in June before compressing toward the 40% range. In that context, the report said the 6-month ATM IV registered at 40.01%, offering a benchmark for where the market expects annualized volatility to average over the next two quarters.
