Ninth-grade results released
The Syrian Ministry of Education announced the results of the Basic Education Certificate “Grade Nine” for 2026, with the option to query results electronically through official channels.

The pass rate in general basic education for regular students was 65.5%, while it reached 43% for private candidates, and the pass rate in religious basic education was 84.2%.

The ministry said 432,549 male and female applicants registered for general and religious basic education, including 419,817 applicants for general basic education and 12,732 applicants for religious basic education.
It also reported that 468 students achieved a perfect score in the Basic Education results.
The results were made available through the examination results app affiliated with the Syrian Ministry of Education and via the ministry’s official website, moed.gov.sy.
How to check
Multiple outlets directed students to use the Syrian Ministry of Education’s approved digital channels, including the examination results application and the ministry’s website.
The العين الإخبارية said the results system allows students to access their data according to the governorate and subscription number, and advised students to ensure data is entered correctly when searching for the Ninth Grade result.

It also described a step-by-step process: selecting Examinations Results, choosing the Basic Education Certificate – Ninth Grade 2026, selecting the governorate, entering the subscription number, and clicking View Result.
The المصري اليوم similarly said the results are now available through the exam results app and that students can check their results via the approved app, while also listing the same overall figures for applicants and pass rates.
The Universitas Indonesia added that the results are available on the approved official platforms, including the examination results app and the ministry’s website, where students can view grade sheets using the enrollment number.
Higher-education and other moves
Alongside the education results announcement, verify-sy reported that Foreign Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Marwan Al-Halabi denied rumors about halting admissions to the dentistry specialty.

In his post on his official X account, Al-Halabi said the ministry had not issued any decision on halting admissions and explained that what was adopted was limited to setting ratios and limits for admissions to curb the large increase in the number of admitted students.
The same source said the Syrian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on his official Facebook page the approval to establish a branch of Al-Furat University in Al-Bukamal, Deir ez-Zor Governorate, on Monday, August 17, 2026.
It added that the decision includes establishing the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences – Department of Arabic Language and its Literature, the second Faculty of Education with two specializations: primary school teacher and kindergarten, and the second Faculty of Economics.
