Raid in Nablus
Israeli forces opened fire early Monday on a Palestinian vehicle carrying several young men during a raid in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to Palestinian media cited by Anadolu Ajansı.

WAFA said Israeli special forces fired on the vehicle near the municipal stadium and ordered one of those inside to surrender, while Palestine TV reported additional Israeli military vehicles entered Nablus through the Deir Sharaf checkpoint and deployed around the stadium.
Al Jazeera reported that two Palestinians were killed and one detained in a raid in Nablus, citing Israeli media, and it described footage showing Israeli military vehicles and personnel deployed across Nablus city in the occupied West Bank.
The Anadolu Ajansı account also said Israeli forces raided Jenin and deployed in the city center, and entered the towns of Ajjah, al-Fandaqumiya, and Jaba south of Jenin.
In the same occupied West Bank escalation described by Anadolu Ajansı, Israeli military raids and attacks by Israeli occupiers against Palestinians have increased since the outbreak of the war in the Gaza Strip in October 2023.
Detentions, deaths, and rights
In Nablus, Palestine’s WAFA said Israeli special forces fired on the vehicle near the municipal stadium and ordered one of those inside to surrender, while the agency reported possible casualties without further details, according to Anadolu Ajansı.
Separately, Türkiye Today said Palestinian prisoners’ rights groups accused Israel of concealing the fate of thousands of Gaza detainees for a third year and issued a joint statement marking the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances on Aug. 30.
Türkiye Today reported that the groups said Israeli authorities withhold detainees’ names, places of detention and health information while preventing contact with families, lawyers and rights organizations, describing the practice as a systematic form of enforced disappearance.
The same Türkiye Today account said at least 53 identified detainees from Gaza have died in Israeli custody since October 2023, out of 99 Palestinian detainees known to have died during the same period, according to the statement.
Türkiye Today also said around 9,500 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons, including 94 women and more than 350 children, according to Palestinian prisoners’ rights groups.
Statements and wider stakes
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee told Haaretz that the Israeli army has confiscated personal vehicles and made arrests following recent violence in the West Bank village of Qusra, saying, "Personal vehicles were confiscated and arrests have been made by the IDF."

Haaretz also quoted Huckabee describing engagement with the IDF and Palestinian Police forces to act on behalf of U.S. citizens, and it reported that President Isaac Herzog condemned settler violence in the West Bank, saying the violence was universally condemned.
In a separate framing of West Bank dynamics, Al-Jazirah Net reported that the American ambassador said perpetrators of violence by Israelis in the West Bank must face consequences, while defending settlement and saying the Jewish people cannot be separated from a land that has been its homeland for 3,800 years.
Al-Jazirah Net also said the ambassador described the perpetrators as a “very small minority” among about half a million Israelis living in the West Bank, and it quoted him saying West Bank crime perpetrators are terrorists.
Taken together with the Nablus and Jenin raids described by Anadolu Ajansı and Türkiye Today, the accounts place immediate pressure on how raids, detentions, and settlement-related violence are handled and justified in the occupied West Bank.
