Iran readies harsher response
Major General Abdollahi, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, warned US and Israeli leaders that any new miscalculation would prompt a response different and more severe compared to previous rounds of war. Abdollahi said the United States and Israel entered each conflict with slogans about overthrowing the Islamic Republic, partitioning Iran and destroying the country, but that those slogans would have been put into practice by now if they had been capable of doing so. Abdollahi added that the U.S. president is now old and unable to get up from his seat, and he said American society and residents of the occupied territories are well aware of the serious and fundamental weaknesses facing their leaders.
Abdollahi concluded by warning that the next roar would come much closer, be more destructive and be impossible to intercept. Ali Abdollahi also said Iran is counting the moments until “your foolish decisions,” and he warned that any further miscalculation would be met with a response far more severe, distinct, and devastating than in the past.

New plans and new minister
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said on social media that the Iranian armed forces had prepared a plan “more destructive” than the 12- and 40-day wars for a “new adventure.” Rezaei warned that Iran’s new operational plan would not respect the already known rules of the United States and Israel. Iran’s parliament approved the nomination of Mehrdad Akhlaghi Ketabchi, 68, to the post of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Minister, with 237 MPs voting in favor and 15 against.
Akhlaghi said expanding the role of Iran’s domestic industrial network in producing defense products was no longer an option but a necessity to meet existing commitments. Akhlaghi warned that the enemy would likely not dare to attack Iran, and he said Iran would respond “broadly and unexpectedly” if the United States and Israel made “another miscalculation.”

Energy threats and regional data
Hossein Mohebi, an Iranian Revolutionary Guards spokesman, threatened that any attack on Iran’s energy infrastructure would prompt a harsh response against Israel. Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, speaker of the Iranian Parliament, announced Tehran’s creation of a new agency, the “Persian Gulf Data Agency,” tasked with controlling the flow of digital data in the region. Qalibaf urged governments, foundations, and Middle Eastern companies not to fund artificial intelligence or data companies that support aggression against Iran or the killing of children.
Esmaïl Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said Sergei Lavrov is expected in Tehran on October 19 for talks on regional and international developments. Baghaei said the visit is part of ongoing consultations between Tehran and Moscow aimed at monitoring the implementation of bilateral agreements and examining the regional and international situation.
