Israeli strike kills Palestinian, injures 11 in Gaza despite ceasefire
A Palestinian was killed and 11 others were injured in an Israeli attack in southern Gaza on Tuesday amid daily violations of last year’s ceasefire agreement, according to a medical source. The source at Kuwait Hospital in Khan Younis said the casualties resulted from an Israeli strike west of the city. Witnesses told Anadolu that the strike targeted a gathering of Palestinians outside the gate of the University College in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis.
Gaza’s Interior Ministry said Israeli aircraft targeted a number of officers and personnel from the Internal Security Service in al-Mawasi, causing the casualties. It was the second attack in three days targeting police personnel in Gaza. A similar strike killed six policemen in Khan Younis on Sunday. The attack was the latest Israeli violation of the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on Oct. 10, 2025. At least 1,599 Palestinians have been killed and 5,774 others injured by Israeli fire since the ceasefire, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The ceasefire was reached after two years of an Israeli genocidal war that has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 175,000 others since October 2023.
