Anadolu Agency (English), on Gaza, 26 October 2026

Anadolu names Israeli occupation forces as the killers in its headline and throughout, gives the age of the child shot inside her tent, and sets the day's deaths against the continuing toll since the October 2025 ceasefire. Nothing in the report hides who did the killing or doubts the Palestinian dead. The only slip is a passive clause on the destruction of Gaza's infrastructure, and the absence of the word genocide that this outlet used in its own voice two days earlier.

What we found

  1. Hides who did it

    Minor

“around 90% of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure has been destroyed”

    What the words do
The closing clause switches to the passive, so the destruction of nine tenths of Gaza's civilian infrastructure arrives with no one doing it.
What a reader comes away believing
A reader takes the ruin of Gaza as something that happened to the enclave rather than something Israel did.
    What is actually the case
Anadolu itself attributed the same figure to Israel's war two days earlier, and the rest of this sentence names Israel as the killer of more than 74,000 Palestinians.

    What is missing

The report never calls Israel's assault on Gaza a genocide, though Anadolu wrote "Israel's genocidal war on Gaza" in its own voice two days earlier and other outlets covering the same days used the same term. Without it the daily killings read as ceasefire violations alone rather than part of a finding of genocide.

7-year-old girl among 4 Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza

Four Palestinians, including a 7-year-old girl, were killed and 14 others injured in attacks by the Israeli army and Israel-backed gunmen in the Gaza Strip on Monday, amid daily violations of last year’s ceasefire agreement, a medical source said. The source at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza told Anadolu that the bodies of two young men and a girl were brought to the hospital following an airstrike and gunfire in the Bir 19 area west of Khan Younis. An Israeli drone carried out several strikes on Bir 19, an area housing tents for displaced Palestinians, killing a young man and moderately injuring four others, witnesses said. Israeli military vehicles also opened heavy fire toward the displacement tents as Israeli-backed gunmen fired in the surrounding area, killing another young man and a 7-year-old girl, who was shot while inside her tent, they added. Another Palestinian man was killed and four others were injured in an Israeli strike west of Khan Younis, the source said. Local sources said an Israeli drone struck a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis. Israeli artillery also shelled areas east of Khan Younis as military vehicles stationed east of the city opened heavy fire. In central Gaza, a Palestinian woman sustained moderate injuries from Israeli gunfire in the Ard al-Shawa area east of Deir al-Balah, another medical source said. Israeli military vehicles made a limited advance east of Deir al-Balah amid heavy gunfire, witnesses said. In northern Gaza, Israeli artillery shelled eastern Gaza City as tanks positioned behind the “Yellow Line” opened fire east of the Shujaiya and Tuffah neighborhoods, they added. The “Yellow Line” marks the area to which Israeli forces withdrew during the first phase of the ceasefire agreement and separates territory under Israeli military control from areas where Palestinians are permitted to remain. Despite the ceasefire that took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, the Israeli army has continued daily attacks in Gaza, killing at least 1,551 Palestinians and injuring 5,573 others, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. Since October 2023, Israel has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 175,000 others in Gaza, while .

What it gets right

  • “4 Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza”

The headline names who did the killing and does not soften it into an incident or a clash.

  • “killing another young man and a 7-year-old girl, who was shot while inside her tent”

It says plainly that the child was shot, where she was, and that Israeli military vehicles and Israeli-backed gunmen were firing.

  • “the Israeli army has continued daily attacks in Gaza, killing at least 1,551 Palestinians”

It sets the day's four dead against the toll Israel has inflicted since the ceasefire, so the reader sees the scale and not only the incident.
