First picture of 'loving family man', 29, killed when tree crushed his car in Storm Boelo

No framing issues found.

A 29-year-old man who died after a tree crushed his car during Storm Boelo has been named and pictured for the first time. James Abiwon was driving along Dollis Road in Mill Hill, north London, when the tree came down in high winds at around 12.30pm on Sunday. Police officers, paramedics, firefighters and an air ambulance were called, but Mr Abiwon was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin were informed and police are now working with the local authority and coroner to establish the exact circumstances surrounding his death.

His cousin Tyrrell Okolo described him as a "master of everything". He told the Metro : "He loved his family he was a massive family man. "He was 'Business Development Representative of the Year' at his company. He was a semi-pro footballer with Aldershot. He also had a music career with 40,000 viewers on YouTube . He was a mentor to many." Mr Abiwon, a tech sales executive who gained a degree from the University of Essex, had been preparing to celebrate his 30th birthday.

He had planned to mark the milestone with a padel tournament, which will now take place in his memory with proceeds going towards his family. His long-time friend Kwame Affum, 29, said he was struggling to comprehend the loss after the pair played padel together just two days before Mr Abiwon died. He told Metro: "I'm trying hard to get my head around this. I played padel with him just on Friday. "One of our friends messaged him just before the accident on Sunday because we owed him money for the court.

He didn’t answer and the alarm bells started ringing." Tributes have also been left beneath posts on Mr Abiwon’s Instagram page following his death. One person wrote: “My brother. I miss you, taken away too soon, I hope God protects your soul and spirit will forever live on.” Another said: “Thank you for your kindess and memories James. I will miss you forever.” Others left messages including “RIP” and “Sleep tight.” Chief Inspector Guy Ellwood, from the North West Command Unit, said: "This is a deeply tragic incident and our thoughts are with the loved ones of the young man who lost his life."

The London Ambulance Service sent incident response officers, paramedics from its hazardous area response team and a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance. A spokesperson said: "Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a man was pronounced dead at the scene."
