Israeli soldiers arrest Al Jazeera journalist in Hebron raids

By Al Jazeera Staff

Published On 3 Nov 20263 Nov 2026

Israeli forces have arrested Al Jazeera Arabic’s correspondent Montaser Nassar in a raid on his home in the occupied West Bank.

Nassar was arrested early on Tuesday at his home in Dura, near the city of Hebron.

Video of the arrest shows Israeli forces leading Nassar, who was blindfolded and handcuffed, into a military vehicle.

Nassar was among more than 13 Palestinians detained in Dura on Tuesday, according to sources. All were taken to an undisclosed location.

Israeli forces had previously assaulted Nassar and his cameraman in Dura on December 29, 2023. The beating came without any warning and caused bruising.

About this analysis

Al Jazeera reports that Israeli occupation forces arrested its Arabic correspondent Montaser Nassar in a raid on his home in Dura, near Hebron, and took him blindfolded and handcuffed to an undisclosed location along with more than 13 other Palestinians. The article names who carried out the arrest and the earlier assault, and it calls the territory occupied. Nothing in it misleads the reader.

What it gets right

  • “Israeli forces have arrested Al Jazeera Arabic’s correspondent Montaser Nassar in a raid on his home in the occupied West Bank.”

It names the actor, calls the arrest a raid, and gives the territory its settled legal status as occupied rather than using the occupation's words.

  • “Israeli forces leading Nassar, who was blindfolded and handcuffed, into a military vehicle”

It describes how the journalist was treated, with the actor named, instead of reducing the arrest to a bare detention.

  • “Israeli forces had previously assaulted Nassar and his cameraman in Dura on December 29, 2023.”

It names Israeli occupation forces as the ones who assaulted the journalist before, with a date, rather than leaving the earlier harm without an actor.
