Israeli Strike on Car in Central Gaza Kills Two Palestinians

No framing issues found.

An Israeli drone strike hit a civilian car in central Gaza on Thursday, killing at least two Palestinians, medical sources told the Anadolu Agency , as the IDF continues its relentless attacks across the Strip. The car was bombed near the entrance of the al-Maghazi refugee camp, and at least one other person was wounded. Footage of the aftermath shows the burnt wreckage of the car and blood on the street. Aftermath of the strike near the al-Maghazi refugee camp (Anadolu Agency via Reuters Connect) Later in the day, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that an Israeli drone struck a group of Palestinians near a school in northern Gaza, east of Jabalia, killing at least one person, bringing Thursday’s death toll to at least three.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said in its daily update , released about midday Gaza time, that over the past 24 hours, Israeli attacks killed at least six Palestinians and wounded 38. Attacks on Wednesday included the Israeli bombing of a government checkpoint in southern Gaza where commercial trucks are screened. The Gaza Government Media office said four government employees were killed in the strike. The ministry said that since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed in October 2025, the IDF has killed at least 1,574 Palestinians and wounded 5,687.

The toll includes only Palestinians killed by direct military violence and not indirect deaths caused by the continued Israeli siege. The Health Ministry also said on Thursday that dozens of Palestinians have died while waiting for medical evacuations to be approved. “The number of patients and injured people who are in urgent need of travel and registered on waiting lists is approximately 21,468 cases, of which 6,430 are candidates and have priority for travel,” the ministry said.

About this analysis

Antiwar.com reports an Israeli drone strike on a civilian car near the al-Maghazi refugee camp that killed at least two Palestinians, a second deadly drone strike near Jabalia, and the Health Ministry's figures for the day and for the period since the October 2025 ceasefire. The article names Israel as the actor in every killing, uses the word killed throughout and reports the deaths during the ceasefire alongside the toll of the siege. Nothing in it misleads the reader.

What it gets right

  • “An Israeli drone strike hit a civilian car in central Gaza on Thursday, killing at least two Palestinians”

Antiwar.com names the actor, the weapon and the killing in its own voice, and calls the car civilian, which matches the Anadolu report (C1).

  • “since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed in October 2025, the IDF has killed at least 1,574 Palestinians”

The article reports the killing that went on through the ceasefire and names who did it, which most outlets stopped covering after October 2025 (E1, R10).

  • “not indirect deaths caused by the continued Israeli siege”

The article tells the reader the toll leaves out deaths from the siege, and it names Israel as responsible for that siege.
