Pezeshkian: Iran diligently working to implement

Tap a highlight to see why it matters.4 findings

President Masoud Pezeshkian says Iran is working to implement the directive of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, to pursue the fulfillment of Tehran’s conditions for ending the US-Israeli-imposed war and terminating the “no war, no peace” situation.

Ayatollah Khamenei, during a meeting with Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), called for efforts to secure the rights and interests of the Iranian people and the Resistance Front through the fulfillment of conditions announced by Iranian officials for ending the “no war, no peace” status quo.

During a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Pezeshkian said the directive conveys a significant message and sets the strategy of the Islamic Republic.

The Iranian government, Pezeshkian said, would be diligent in achieving the goals set by the Leader.

The president called on government agencies to remain fully prepared to act according to the evolving circumstances.

“All ministers, heads, and deputies of government agencies are required to remain fully prepared, manage and reduce costs in line with current circumstances, and use existing resources to improve efficiency and expand national capacity.”

Referring to the importance of managing resources effectively and reforming processes to demonstrate the strong resilience of Iran in the face of external threats, Pezeshkian said, “Our enemies must not think that increasing pressure and threats can weaken the resolve of the Iranian people and force the country to surrender.”

‘Quadrilateral meeting in Tehran valuable opportunity’

Addressing the same cabinet meeting, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the recent meeting between senior officials from the Islamic Republic, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan, held in Tehran on Monday, offered a “valuable opportunity” to advance dialogue on regional peace and security.

There was an opportunity for “enduring cooperation,” but the nations would need to agree on core principles, build trust and display mutual respect for national sovereignty, Araghchi said in a post on his Telegram account.

Sustainable security, Araghchi said, must be created by regional countries, without foreign military intervention.

The United States and Israel launched another round of against Iran on February 28, some eight months after .

Iran of missiles and drones at the Israeli-occupied territories, as well as US bases and interests across the region.

Following 40 days of war, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed remotely in June by President Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump under the mediation of Pakistan.

The 14-point Islamabad MoU committed both sides to ending military operations “on all fronts” and provided for the suspension of wartime restrictions placed by Iran on the Strait of Hormuz, the lifting of the US naval blockade, and the release of frozen Iranian assets.

Press TV reports Pezeshkian's pledge to carry out Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei's directive on Iran's conditions for ending the war, with the president and foreign minister properly quoted. In its closing background, the outlet uses unsourced verdict words in its own voice: it calls the attacks on Iran "illegal" and "unprovoked", calls Iran's barrages "decisive", and states with no attribution that Washington "repeatedly violated" the Islamabad MoU. The headline also turns a directive about holding to conditions into a directive "to end war".

  1. States one side's claim as fact

    Minor

    “illegal aggression”

    Why this matters
Press TV calls the February US-Israeli attack "illegal aggression" in its own narration, not in a quote from any Iranian official.
    The impression it gives
The reader takes it as established that a court or legal authority has ruled the attack unlawful.
    The context
The coverage confirms the US and Israel attacked Iran in February. Nothing in the article or the material gives a legal ruling on that attack. The illegality is Iran's position and should be attributed to Tehran.

    “unprovoked attacks on the country”

    Why this matters
The outlet calls the earlier attacks "unprovoked" in its own voice, with no source attached.
    The impression it gives
The reader takes it as settled fact that nothing preceded or occasioned the earlier attacks.
    The context
"Unprovoked" is a verdict on causation that the article never sources. It is Iran's characterisation and is given here as the outlet's own statement.

  2. States one side's claim as fact

    Minor

“Washington has repeatedly violated the agreement, including through military strikes, the revocation of oil sale licenses, and continued Israeli attacks against Lebanon”

    Why this matters
Press TV states as its own fact that Washington broke the Islamabad MoU, and it counts Israeli attacks on Lebanon as a US violation. The article ends on this line, attributes it to no one and gives no US response.
    The impression it gives
The reader takes it as settled that the US is in breach of the MoU on all three counts.
    The context
Whether these acts breach the MoU is Iran's charge. The coverage shows the US sets its own conditions, such as reducing enrichment. The article gives no US account and no source for the breach claim.

  3. Headline goes beyond the article

    Minor

    “Leader’s directive to end war”

    Why this matters
The headline calls Khamenei's instruction a "directive to end war".
    The impression it gives
The reader thinks the Leader ordered the government to bring the war to an end.
    The context
The body says the directive was to pursue the fulfilment of Tehran's conditions for ending the war. Other outlets report it the same way, as maintaining those conditions.

  4. Uses a loaded word

    Minor

“swiftly retaliated by launching decisive barrages”

    Why this matters
The outlet calls Iran's barrages "decisive" in its own narration.
    The impression it gives
The reader takes it that the barrages achieved a decisive result.
    The context
The article gives no fact about what the barrages achieved. "Decisive" is praise, not reporting.
