2 Palestinians wounded as Israeli attacks continue in Gaza despite ceasefire
At least two Palestinians were injured early Friday in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a residential apartment in Gaza City, medical and local sources told Anadolu. The casualties come as the Israeli military continues its attacks in the Gaza Strip in ongoing violations of a ceasefire that has been in effect since October 2025. The sources said an Israeli helicopter fired at least one missile at an apartment in a residential building in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City, causing minor injuries to two Palestinians.
In the central Gaza Strip, the Israeli army carried out extensive demolitions of houses in areas under its control east of Al-Masdar town, alongside heavy artillery shelling around the area. Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that the demolitions destroyed buildings and abandoned houses. The witnesses added that a loud explosion was heard across wide areas of the Gaza Strip. In the southern part of the strip, Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire toward tents housing displaced Palestinians in the Qizan al-Najjar and Jorat al-Lut areas, south of Khan Younis, according to local sources.
No casualties were reported from the gunfire. Israeli violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement have killed 1,574 Palestinians and wounded 5,687 others as of Thursday, according to the latest figures from Gaza's Health Ministry. Since October 2023, Israel has launched a genocidal war on Gaza that killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 175,000, while destroying around 90% of civilian infrastructure.
