But we left with an even greater determination to speak out. “We will not be silenced, and we will not look away. None of us should.” Clive Lewis was accompanied by Scottish National Party MP Lara Bird | PA Ms Bird added: “I came to stand alongside Palestinians being attacked for harvesting olives on their own land.

Instead, we were turned away, with no reason given. “More than ever, Palestinians are being subject to terror and violence by the IDF and illegal settlers. “Increased blockades, demolitions and unthinkable violence have become the norm for Palestinians in the West Bank. “It is more important now than ever that we bear witness and show our solidarity.” LATEST DEVELOPMENTS 'He's wrong!' What we found (1)

GB News reports that Clive Lewis and Lara Bird were held for eight hours and turned back from the West Bank, and quotes them at length. In its own voice it never calls the West Bank occupied, though its own earlier reporting did, and it reports Israel closing the territory's crossings as an ordinary decision. It names the settlements Ed Miliband sanctioned without saying the ICJ has found them illegal, leaving that only to an MP's quote.

    Serious

“Israel confirmed its intention to close West Bank crossings ahead of polls opening today”

    Why this matters
GB News reports Israel closing the West Bank's crossings for its own election without saying the territory is occupied. The word occupied appears nowhere in the article.
    The impression it gives
Israel controls entry into the West Bank as a normal sovereign matter, so the closure is an ordinary border decision that the MPs chose to defy.
    The context
The ICJ found Israel's occupation of the West Bank unlawful. Israel's power to shut the crossings is the power of an occupier. GB News's own earlier report on settler violence called it the occupied West Bank, so the outlet knows the term.

    “sanctions on West Bank settlements”

    Why this matters
GB News names the settlements Miliband sanctioned without saying they are illegal under international law. The only mention of illegality comes inside Lara Bird's quote.
    The impression it gives
The settlements are a political target of UK policy whose status is a matter of opinion, voiced only by a campaigning MP.
    The context
The ICJ found Israel's settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem illegal under international law. That is settled record, not an MP's view.

Israel, whose occupation of the West Bank the ICJ has ruled unlawful, closed the territory's crossings ahead of its election. Ed Miliband had announced sanctions on the settlements, which the ICJ has found illegal.
