Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia hold security meeting in Tehran
Delegations from Iran, Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia have begun a meeting in Tehran, with regional security, the consequences of US-Israeli military aggression and support for the Palestinians and Lebanese among the main topics of discussion.

The article never mentions that the meeting took place as the Houthis launched new attacks on Saudi Arabia and Egypt approved military support for the kingdom. Nor does it say that the war had expanded to Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Without this, a reader believes the Saudi delegation came only to discuss the US-Israeli war and solidarity with Palestine and Lebanon. In fact Saudi Arabia was itself under attack by a group other outlets describe as Iran-backed.

The meeting, which kicked off on Monday, was proposed by Pakistan and held with Iran’s support and cooperation.
Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Major General Mohsen Rezaei is hosting the gathering.
Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman and Turkish National Intelligence Organization Director Ibrahim Kalin are representing their respective countries.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also attended the four-way meeting.
Before the meeting, the three representatives met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Deputy Secretary of the SNSC Ali Bagheri Kani said earlier in the day that the visit by senior Saudi, Pakistani and Turkish officials to Tehran aims to promote regional security and draw on Iran’s defense experience during the 40-day war imposed by the United States and Israel.

The article gives only an Iranian official's account of the visit's purpose: promoting security and drawing on Iran's defence experience. It omits that the Saudi Foreign Ministry said the visit was meant to prevent further escalation. It also omits that, according to a Pakistani official, Munir brought a diplomatic proposal approved by Trump, with Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan and Qatar as possible guarantors. Without this, a reader believes the visitors came to learn from Iran rather than to broker de-escalation and possible US-Iran talks.

“Iran’s defense model, based on its indigenous capabilities, has become a successful model for ensuring national security.”
Meanwhile, a senior Iranian official told Reuters that Iran would hold no nuclear discussions with the three officials until the United States meets Tehran’s conditions for a permanent end to the war, including lifting the blockade, easing oil sanctions and ending hostilities on all regional fronts.
The United States and Israel waged their illegal war of aggression against Iran on February 28.
In response, the Iranian armed forces launched decisive retaliatory attacks against US and Israeli assets in the region.
The war came to a halt after 40 days with a ceasefire, which was then formalized in mid-June through the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the presidents of Iran and the United States. Washington has violated the MoU since.
