Al Nassr Appoints Ange Postecoglou Head Coach On Two-Year Deal To Coach Cristiano Ronaldo

Ange Postecoglou has been appointed head coach of Al Nassr on a two-year deal, with the Saudi club announcing that "The contract spans two seasons."

The appointment comes as Postecoglou takes over an Al-Nassr side led by Cristiano Ronaldo, who helped the club to the Saudi Pro League title on the final day of the season in May under Jorge Jesus, who stood down after the title success.

Postecoglou, who previously managed Tottenham and was sacked two weeks later after they finished 17th in the Premier League, is now set to coach Ronaldo after the Australian’s return to management.

The Guardian also notes that Postecoglou was linked with the Scotland job after Steve Clarke stepped down following their World Cup exit, and that media reports said his wage demands were too high for the central Asian side.

Sky Sports says Postecoglou will coach Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League after being named the new Al Nassr boss, and it adds that this will be his first return to management since being sacked by Nottingham Forest in October after just 39 days in charge.

Fox Sports says Postecoglou will be in charge of a dressing room that includes Joao Felix, Sadio Mane and Kingsley Coman alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, and it describes the move as Postecoglou teaming up with "football legend Cristiano Ronaldo."
