Israeli Prosecutors Charge Bar-Ilan Lecturer With Plot To Kill 600-700 Arabs
Bar-Ilan University mathematics professor indicted for planning to kill 600-700 Arabs. Indictment says targets were Arab citizens of Israel and Palestinians in the West Bank.

Indictment for Mass Plot
Israeli prosecutors charged a Bar-Ilan University mathematics lecturer with preparing a “thorough and detailed plan” to kill hundreds of Arab citizens and force mass displacement, and the indictment was filed with the Central District Court in Lod. The prosecution said the plan envisioned 72 armed Jewish attackers divided into 12 cells of six, with the indictment estimating “between 600 and 700” victims. The indictment described the lecturer’s preparations as spanning nearly three years, including work beginning in February 2023 and reconnaissance around the northern Bedouin town of Tuba-Zangariyye.
The lecturer allegedly named the plan “Ayit,” an acronym for “Am Ya’ase Transfer,” and prosecutors said the scheme aimed to drive Arabs inside Israel and Palestinians in the West Bank to flee to Jordan, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. The Times of Israel reported that prosecutors said the suspect tried to convince, then blackmail, right-wing politician Moshe Feiglin into helping find recruits for the mass simultaneous attacks.

Feiglin, Blackmail, Gag
Moshe Feiglin’s team handed police threatening letters they said they received from the lecturer, and the court filing described the letters as received after Feiglin, his deputy Yitzhak Hai Zaga and Zehut executive director Shai Malka were approached.
The indictment said the lecturer tried to enlist Feiglin, and it also alleged that the lecturer attempted to blackmail him, with prosecutors saying Feiglin did not respond to repeated approaches.

The lecturer called the plan “Ayit,” and prosecutors said the practical instructions included calls for “not even show mercy for the women and their cruel and sickening children.”
At the Lod District Court hearing, the professor told the judge, “In my opinion, I am not currently dangerous to anyone. I can be released to house arrest,” and he added, “I have exams to grade at home.”
The judge extended the gag order until noon on Oct. 7, while the professor’s name remained under a court-issued publication ban.
Custody, Alleged IDF Links
Prosecutors asked the Lod District Court to keep the lecturer in custody until the end of the proceedings, and the Central District Attorney’s Office sought continued detention as the case moved forward. The indictment described assistance sought from within the Israeli army, with prosecutors saying the plan relied on “subversive elements” in the IDF’s Air Force, artillery and armored corps to support simultaneous attacks. The prosecution said the lecturer planned to arm 72 participants with pistols, rifles, axes and hammers and to target mixed cities and Arab communities, including Tuba-Zanghariyye in the North.
The Times of Israel reported that the suspect allegedly tried and failed to spark “preliminary interest” from Feiglin during public events in Ashdod in May 2025 and in Givat Shmuel in November 2025. Bar-Ilan University said it “condemns and is shocked” by the allegations and suspended the professor until the end of the legal process.
