September bid lifts BTC

Bitcoin was up about 7% in September after gaining 25% in August, and Bitcoin was trading at $84,000 as the month neared its end.

A positive September close would be the first to follow a positive August since 2013, which would give bitcoin three consecutive monthly gains from July through September.

The third quarter was on track to be up more than 40%, its first positive quarter since Q3 2025.

The fourth quarter historically has been bitcoin’s strongest, with CoinGlass data putting its average gain at roughly 77%.

The macro headwinds included the U.S. 10-year yield being above 5.2% and the MOVE index being above 100, while oil prices held above $90 a barrel.

ETFs pull in cash

Bitcoin rebounded above $84,000 as U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs drew in about $31 million on Monday, according to SoSoValue.

Bitcoin rose 1% to just above $84,200 on Tuesday, finding buyers on dips to about $82,500.

Ether funds took in about $17 million, while SOL and XRP funds added a combined $17 million.

The lone U.S. ZEC fund posted the only net outflow, losing about $8 million.

Tokenpost said the next regularly scheduled U.S. federal general election is Nov. 3, and it said September’s advance would be finalized when September trading ends on Sept. 30.
