Bitdeer framed the Sparks project as part of its AI and Bitcoin mining infrastructure expansion, with Paul Hanson, Chairman of Bitdeer Industrial, saying the facility is intended to strengthen the company’s supply chain resilience while bringing production closer to onshore customers.

Catherine Guo, Bitdeer Industrial CEO, tied the investment to Nevada’s workforce and logistics, while Taylor Adams, President and CEO of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, said the project supports the region’s efforts to attract advanced manufacturing and technology development.

The announcement also positioned the Sparks facility as complementing Bitdeer’s existing U.S. data centres and its innovation hub in San Jose, California.

Stock reaction and strategy

Cointelegraph said Bitdeer shares rallied after the company announced the $36 million Nevada manufacturing facility, with the report stating the stock climbed 14.1% to $14.33 on Thursday.

Cointelegraph also reported that Bitdeer CEO Catherine Guo told local media the company worked with Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo’s administration and local authorities to secure tax incentives, including a reduction in qualifying sales taxes.

In a separate account, TradingView said BTDR shares soared around 15% during Thursday afternoon’s trading session and extended gains in after-hours trading, rising another 0.45% at the time of writing.

Bitget described the Nevada factory as Bitdeer’s first in the United States and said it was projected to produce up to 10,000 mining rigs per month once fully operational.

The same Bitget report connected the buildout to Bitdeer’s broader financial strategy, noting that since February the company has been pursuing a “zero BTC” policy, selling all Bitcoin it mines rather than holding it on its balance sheet.

Timeline, jobs, and incentives

GlobeNewswire similarly stated the plant is slated for completion by the end of 2026 and is expected to produce 10,000 units of Bitdeer’s SEALMINER computing hardware each month while creating 70 high-quality local jobs.

A local broadcast report, News 4 & Fox 11, said construction started at a facility off Pyramid Highway near the Spanish Springs library and that when the factory comes fully online in early 2027 it would be capable of producing 10,000 servers per month.

That same News 4 & Fox 11 report added that Bitdeer executives said the 180,000 square foot facility would employ roughly 70 people and that the company was enticed by tax abatements from the Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development, with Nevada GOED saying Bitdeer is expected to receive over $488,000 in tax abatements over the next decade.

The project was also described as not hosting servers, with the Sparks facility producing SEALMINER mining servers while distinguishing it from Bitdeer’s data centers in other states.
