Amina weighs public listing

Swiss digital-asset bank AMINA is working with Wall Street firm Cantor Fitzgerald to explore options that might lead to a public listing, with discussions ongoing and no final decision made on the preferred path forward. Crypto News says Cantor is advising AMINA Bank, formerly known as SEBA Bank, as it considers a public listing, while valuation and preferred exchange remain undisclosed.

Cantor’s mandate follows its onchain IPO partnership with Securitize, announced earlier in July, and Crypto News adds that AMINA recorded 69% revenue growth in 2024. Crypto News also reports that Cantor is reportedly pursuing a separate deal involving up to 30,000 Bitcoin from Blockstream, which would be contributed to Cantor Equity Partners 1, a special purpose acquisition company that raised $200 million in January.

Reverse takeover favored

CoinDesk reports that AMINA has explored several possibilities, including a SPAC merger, and now favors going public through a reverse takeover of a digital asset treasury company, according to two people familiar with the matter.

CoinDesk also says an AMINA spokesperson denied that a reverse takeover of a digital asset treasury company was being considered, and that discussions on other approaches are ongoing with no final decision made.

In emailed comments, the AMINA spokesperson said, "SPACs and other vehicles have contacted us. Their primary focus is on a quick stock market listing rather than growth capital."

The spokesperson added, "We are not currently in discussions with any SPACs or DATs," while also stating, "We are in discussions with potential investors."

Regulatory reach and next steps

Crypto News says AMINA operates under a licence from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, or FINMA, and that its services include cryptocurrency custody, trading, lending and staking for institutional and private clients. Crypto News adds that AMINA secured authorization under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets framework through its Austrian subsidiary, and described itself as the first international crypto banking group to obtain a MiCA licence.

CoinDesk reports that AMINA is overseen by FINMA and offers crypto trading, custody, staking and lending services to institutional and professional investors, while also noting that the crypto industry has embraced public markets over the past year. CoinDesk further states that as of year-end 2025, AMINA reported 74.6 million francs ($91 million) in Tier 1 capital and has raised roughly $245 million from investors including Julius Baer, DeFi Technologies and BlackRiver Asset Management.
