Breakbulk.News said the acquisition would extend CMA CGM’s reach deeper into regional supply chains, ending roughly 130 years of independent family ownership.

Breakbulk.News also said CMA CGM’s logistics division, anchored by CEVA Logistics, generated $18.3 billion in revenue in 2025 and now operates 1,000 warehouses globally.

Rodolphe Saadé’s pitch

In the joint press release, CMA CGM Chief Executive Rodolphe Saadé framed the acquisition as a step toward becoming “a global leader in end-to-end logistics and supply chain solutions.”

Supply Chain Digital reported that Rodolphe Saadé said: “By integrating Fattal’s strong distribution platform, we are expanding our capabilities downstream, closer to end markets and consumers.”

Supply Chain Digital also quoted Joe Dakkak, Managing Director of CMA CGM in Lebanon and the Levant, saying: “Discussions to acquire the group began in September 2025,” and that the agreement was officially signed last week.

Shipping Telegraph said Rodolphe Saadé described the transaction as “a key milestone in his company’s ambition to become a global leader in end-to-end logistics and supply chain solutions,” and said integrating Fattal’s distribution platform would expand capabilities downstream, closer to end markets and consumers.

Family stewardship ends

Fattal Group was founded in 1897 and is led by Caroline Fattal, the group’s chairwoman and a fourth generation member of the founding family, according to Breakbulk.News.

Supply Chain Digital reported that Caroline Fattal said: “After 130 years of continued stewardship, the Fattal shareholders have made the decision to entrust the future of the Fattal Group to CMA CGM Group as they are confident that it will continue to build on the success of the Group.”

Boursorama said CMA CGM’s spokesperson told AFP that the acquisition should allow the shipping company to “complete” its “logistics offering” in the region, with the completion expected in the “third quarter of 2026” subject to regulatory approvals.
