Beita attack near Nablus
Israeli colonists attacked the outskirts of the town of Beita, south of Nablus, targeting an industrial facility and a livestock shelter belonging to Palestinian citizen Samer Abu Mazen, and fired live ammunition in the area. WAFA said local sources reported that no injuries were reported in the attack.
A second report from وكالة شهاب الإخبارية described the same morning attack in the Abu al-Himra area of Beita, saying settlers attacked an industrial facility and a pool belonging to citizen Samir Abu Mazen and fired live ammunition, again with no injuries reported. Both accounts placed the incident in Beita, south of Nablus, and both tied it to a pattern of prior assaults in the town, with WAFA noting an attack on a livestock shelter in Beita on Wednesday.
Broader West Bank violence
Beyond Beita, Al-Jazeera Net reported that Israeli occupation forces and settlers continued attacks on Palestinians and their property across the occupied West Bank, causing injuries in several areas. In occupied Jerusalem, the same Al-Jazeera Net report said that dozens of settlers desecrated the Barn Gate Cemetery adjacent to the eastern wall of al-Aqsa Mosque, performed Jewish rituals, and blew horns beside the graves of Muslims, under the protection of occupation police.
Al-Jazeera Net also described eviction orders in Beita, saying the occupation forces issued eviction orders for two homes in the western Beita area belonging to Basel Ibrahim Abdul Karim Dawood and Zakaria Dawood, giving them 72 hours to evacuate. The report further said the occupation forces arrested three Palestinians and issued orders to evacuate two homes, while also describing gunfire and injuries in al-Bireh and assaults on Palestinians on the road connecting Ramallah and Jericho.
Deterrence, displacement, and scrutiny
In a broader framing of consequences, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported that The Telegraph said Israel ordered British soldiers who were monitoring settler violence in the West Bank to leave the occupied territories. Al-Araby Al-Jadeed said the British Support Team was preparing to expand its activity and increase its personnel by about fourfold in the coming weeks, but Israel issued an order to leave as part of measures taken in response to British-led trade sanctions against settlements in the West Bank.
The same report said the team was given seven days to leave, and it quoted a British government official saying, "The Israelis listen to everything," especially the reports the team compiles and issues about settler violence and the situation in the West Bank. Separately, Sout al-Imārāṭ quoted former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert accusing Benjamin Netanyahu’s government of turning a blind eye to violence by Israeli settlers and describing what he called "a 'violent and criminal attempt at ethnic cleansing.'"
