Fox News Media said it was ending her run hours after Fox Business Network aired the final episode of “Mornings with Maria,” and the company thanked her for “her work over the last 12½ years” while offering no reason for the separation.
Trump reacted on Truth Social, writing, “I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business.”
Fox said the first show will be renamed “Mornings with Fox Business” and will feature rotating anchors, while “Sunday Morning Futures” would be hosted by Jason Chaffetz for the time being, according to the statement described in the reporting.
What Led to Exit
DailyVoice reported that Bartiromo was fired after disclosing confidential network guidance to the Trump White House, saying CNN reported the dispute dated to Trump’s prime-time speech in July about the election system.
DailyVoice added that a Fox executive directed the network not to cover or amplify Trump’s claims, and that Bartiromo “apparently sent a screenshot of that internal guidance to White House officials,” according to CNN as described by the outlet.
The Los Angeles Times said the breaking point may have been her sharing of internal company texts with the Trump White House, and it quoted a person familiar with the matter calling it “a business decision.”
In the same reporting, Vice President JD Vance told reporters, “I don’t know, man. No, I don’t think so,” when asked whether Bartiromo would be the next press secretary after Karoline Leavitt’s resignation.

The departure landed as Fox announced that Bartiromo’s weekday Fox Business program “Mornings with Maria” had aired Thursday morning, and that her weekend program “Sunday Morning Futures” would continue with fill-in hosts until a permanent replacement is named.

In parallel, the reporting tied Bartiromo’s Fox tenure to legal fights, including that Fox paid $787.5 million in 2023 to settle Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit over false 2020 election claims, and that she remains a defendant in Smartmatic’s $2.7 billion defamation case against Fox and several current or former personalities.
