Stabbing at Rosenheim Station
A 31-year-old British woman died after being stabbed at Rosenheim railway station in southern Germany in the early hours of Sunday, police said, with the Bavarian Police citing "severe" injuries.

Police said the attack happened shortly before 01:00 local time (00:00BST) and that officers arrested a 27-year-old German man at the scene immediately after the incident.
The suspect was from the Fürstenfeldbruck district, and police said the background and motive for the attack were under investigation.
Rosenheim Mayor Abuzar Erdogan said "there are no indications of a security threat in our city or of any link to our Herbstfest" as the Rosenheimer Herbstfest was taking place in the area.
The Foreign Office spokesperson told the BBC: "We are supporting the family of a British woman who died in Germany [and] are in touch with the local authorities."
Arrest, Investigation, Witnesses
Rosenheim police said the woman was attacked at the city’s train station, taken to a nearby hospital, and died from serious injuries, while federal police officers detained the suspect immediately after the stabbing.
The BBC reported that police asked anyone who may have witnessed "an argument or physical altercation" at the station late on Saturday or early on Sunday to contact them.B
The Guardian said the suspect was expected to be brought before magistrates on Sunday, and it reiterated that police did not release the names of the victim or the suspect under German privacy rules.
Sky News quoted police describing that "Federal police officers were able to provisionally arrest the suspected attacker" at around 12.50am after a report of a knife attack.
The Irish Times added that investigators appealed for witnesses and believed the woman was waiting on platform 4/5 for a night train to Salzburg.

Rosenheim Mayor Abuzar Erdogan said the criminal investigation department was working closely with the public prosecutor’s office to investigate the circumstances and motive behind the crime as a matter of urgency.

Deutsche Bahn said its security personnel were at the crime scene with federal police and that they were still in shock and would need time to process the stabbing, while police said train service was not significantly disrupted.
The BBC described Rosenheim as a busy rail hub for passengers travelling to Austrian cities including Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck, placing the attack in a wider travel corridor.B
