Harvey’s valuation surge
Legal AI startup Harvey has raised $550 million at a $15.5 billion valuation in a round co-led by Diffusion and Lightspeed Venture Partners, according to the company’s announcement.
“Legal AI start-up Harvey has raised $550m at a $15.5bn valuation”
Silicon Republic says the deal marks an almost $5 billion valuation growth for the start-up, coming less than six months after Harvey announced a $200 million raise at an $11 billion valuation.

The company also announced its acquisition of San Francisco-based Guardrails AI, described as a security platform for AI agents, with Guardrails co-founders Shreya Rajpal and Zayd Simjee and their team set to join Harvey’s product and engineering organisation.
Harvey co-founders Winston Weinberg and Gabe Pereyra said, “The opportunity for companies to accelerate their competitive advantage with AI has never been higher,” in a statement accompanying the funding and acquisition.
Model and office expansion
Harvey’s latest funding follows the introduction of Harvey Tenet, its first post-trained open-weight model, and the launch of Harvey LAB, the Legal Agent Benchmark, as described by Unite.AI.
Unite.AI says Harvey Tenet starts from a Kimi K3 base and was post-trained together with Fireworks research for long-horizon legal work, using asynchronous reinforcement learning with group-sequence policy optimization, or GSPO.

The same source reports that the training dataset comprised roughly 1,750 agentic legal task environments, and training ran on approximately 150 NVIDIA B300 GPUs over two months.
Silicon Republic adds that Harvey opened a Dublin office earlier this year with plans to hire 40 people, and it says the office was initially announced in January with early hiring plans eyeing 20 roles in the first year.
Investors, adoption, and outlook
The funding round included existing investors Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, a16z, Coatue, Conviction, Elad Gil, Evantic, GIC, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Verified Capital, and WNDR, while Diffusion, Lightspeed, Sapphire Ventures, and Whale Rock joined as new investors, according to Unite.AI.
“80% of Am Law 100 law firms use its products”
Unite.AI says Harvey reported that 80% of Am Law 100 law firms use its products, alongside in-house legal teams that include five of the Fortune 10.
The Next Web reports that Harvey has now raised more than $1.5bn and that its annual recurring revenue has passed $400mn, while its customer base has grown to more than 3,000 organisations.
In a quote carried by The Next Web, chief executive Winston Weinberg said, “All software companies need to turn into AI companies, full stop,” and he added that post-training models are “going to be part of that process.”
