Nabatieh strike injures reporters
An Israeli strike hit close to an Al-Manar reporter and his camera operator in the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh, with Al Jazeera saying the pair were reportedly injured but are in good health.

CPJ said the team was on assignment to cover the recent Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon for the evening news, and it added that both were released from hospital according to their channel.
The Associated Press reported the reporter was on air live near Husseiniyeh in central Nabatiyeh around 8 p.m. when the second strike hit nearby, citing information provided to AP by Al Manar TV.
AP said video of the incident shows the moment the strike hits close to the reporter as he is reporting live, and it noted the footage has widely circulated online.
Ceasefires fail to protect
CPJ said the injuries underscored the fragility of ceasefires in both Gaza and Lebanon, warning that Israeli strikes have injured at least four journalists, including three on Sunday.
CPJ Regional Director Sara Qudah said, “These attacks show that ceasefires have done little to protect journalists from the dangers of reporting in Gaza and Lebanon,” and she added that journalists must be allowed to do their jobs without fear of being targeted or killed.
Muslim Network TV also cited CPJ’s documentation of injuries to three journalists on September 6 alone, describing the episode as part of Israeli strikes that injured journalists despite Gaza, Lebanon ceasefires.
MNTV said Al-Manar TV correspondent Ali Chbib and cameraman Mohammed Barjawi were injured when debris struck them following an Israeli drone strike on a parking area in Nabatieh on September 6, and it reported the two were later discharged from hospital.
In Gaza, CPJ said Palestinian journalist and producer Ali Jahjouh, who works for Al-Mayadeen, was injured while walking to an assignment near the Al-Shati Refugee Camp in Gaza City after an Israeli drone strike hit nearby.
Broader pattern and stakes
CPJ said the latest injuries add to a record of danger for journalists covering Israeli military operations, and it pointed to an earlier case on April 22, 2026 when Lebanese Al-Akhbar journalist Amal Khalil was killed and freelance journalist Zeinab Faraj was injured in an Israeli attack.

CPJ said Amnesty International has found reasonable grounds to believe the strike was a direct attack on civilians and should be investigated as a war crime, while CPJ added that it emailed the Israeli military for comment on the incidents but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
In Lebanon, Ynetnews reported that Al-Manar said Shabib and cameraman Mohammed Barjawi sustained light injuries and were taken for examinations at Sheikh Ragheb Harb Hospital, with the network saying they were in stable condition.Y
Ynetnews also quoted Al-Manar’s statement that “They are expected to return to work soon,” and it described the strike as occurring while Shabib was preparing to speak to viewers when the recording was abruptly cut off.Y
The Times of Israel said the incident came as the IDF struck targets in southern Lebanon after Hezbollah launched two explosive drones at troops operating in the Ali Taher Ridge area, with the IDF adding that one drone was shot down and that no soldiers were injured.
