Iran’s UN Envoy Ali Bahreini Urges Action Against US And Israel Aggression

Iran urges UN action
Ali Bahreini, Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, urged the international community to take action against war crimes and crimes against humanity as he addressed the 63rd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Switzerland on September 21. Bahreini said the United States and the Israeli regime perpetrated a “blatant and brutal aggression” and described 28 February 2026 as “a historic moment for the people of Iran.”
Bahreini argued that Iran endured consequences shaped by the United States, while he said Iran’s people were “caught between foreign invasion and economic impacts of UCMs.” Bahreini concluded by saying “the January protests in Iran was peaceful at the beginning but immediately evolved into violent unrest amid external interference.”
Iran condemns Israel in UNGA
Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned continued Israeli “genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity” in Gaza and the occupied West Bank in a statement ahead of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The Foreign Ministry urged the international community to take “serious and decisive action” to stop the killing of Palestinians and called for an end to occupation and further land seizures.
The Foreign Ministry accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of a “shameless insult” against Al-Aqsa Mosque and of the desecration of the Buraq Wall. The Foreign Ministry said more than 10,000 Palestinian women and children have been detained and it alleged that dozens have died in custody while hundreds have suffered amputations or disabilities.
Detention, torture, and accountability
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the “taking hostage of Palestinian women and children” had reached more than ten thousand and described their torture in prisons as leading to “the martyrdom of dozens of them” and “the amputation and disability of hundreds of others.” The Foreign Ministry stated that “an average of at least three Palestinian prisoners are martyred under torture every month” and said this was evidence of the “apartheid and colonial nature” of the Israeli regime.
The Foreign Ministry argued that “the immunity granted to this regime by the United States” must not disrupt the pursuit of justice and freedom for Palestine or the demand for the prosecution and punishment of Israeli criminals. The Foreign Ministry said the 81st UN General Assembly’s focus on “restoring trust” required states to place support for Palestinians’ right to self-determination and to take immediate action to stop the genocide, prevent further expansion of occupation and the seizure of Palestinian lands, deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, and hold perpetrators accountable.
