Airstrikes, fires, evacuations

Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, destroying homes in the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, Jabalia refugee camp in the north, and the Al-Zaytoun and Al-Jalaa neighborhoods of Gaza City.

Shafaq News said the strikes left several injuries and “large fires in the targeted sites,” and it reported that the Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson said the Israeli military issued evacuation orders in the past few hours covering homes in six areas across the enclave.

The Shafaq News report also tied the Thursday attacks to the post-ceasefire period, stating that since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, the Gaza Health Ministry recorded 1,185 deaths and 3,816 injuries, along with 802 bodies recovered.

Al Jazeera Net similarly described Thursday evening airstrikes that destroyed houses in the Bureij refugee camp and Jabalia refugee camp and hit the Al-Zaytoun and Al-Jalaa neighborhoods, leaving several people injured.

It added that the Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson told Al Jazeera that the Israeli occupation issued evacuation orders for homes in six areas of the Gaza Strip in recent hours.

A family home destroyed

In Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood, the charred carcass of the Al-Masri family home was still smoldering on Tuesday afternoon hours after the Israeli army bombed it, according to ISM-France.

ISM-France said the strike killed Firas and Salsabeel al-Masri and their four children — Faryal, Salma, Amira, and Naim — while they slept, and it described the airstrike as taking place without warning around 2 a.m.

Abu Youssef Al-Masri, the children’s grandfather, told Drop Site, “We were sleeping in the middle of the night, around 2 a.m., when we heard a huge explosion,” and he said, “We understood that the house had been hit. It collapsed and caught fire.”

Chronique de Palestine echoed the same account, saying the house burned completely and that “They burned before our eyes and we could do nothing,” as Mohammed Al-Masri spoke from the cemetery where the six members of the family were buried on Tuesday afternoon.

Both reports placed the attack within a broader intensification of Israeli offensive activity across Gaza in recent days, with Chronique de Palestine saying Israel had seized nearly 70 percent of the Gaza Strip and killed nearly 60 Palestinians over the past week.C

Death tolls and shrinking space

Shafaq News reported that since October 7, 2023, the cumulative toll in Gaza has reached 73,311 killed and 173,924 injured, and it said that since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, the Gaza Health Ministry recorded 1,185 deaths and 3,816 injuries.

ISM-France and Chronique de Palestine both described the same post-ceasefire period, with ISM-France saying the Palestinian death toll since the entry into effect of a so-called ceasefire in October 2025 had reached 1,180 people, including more than 250 children, and with Chronique de Palestine stating that number as 1,180 and adding that 127 were killed during the first three weeks of July.C

Chronique de Palestine also said Israeli ground troops continued their advance and pushed the “yellow line” westward, taking new territory and pushing the Palestinian population into an increasingly confined space.C

ISM-France described how Israeli airstrikes and daily artillery fire, as well as drone and direct-fire attacks, targeted residential buildings, tent camps, civilian vehicles, a funeral procession, a police station and a hospital turned into a refuge, killing dozens of Palestinians in the enclave just in the past week.

In the same reporting stream, ISM-France said an Israeli airstrike hit the Al-Yemen Al-Saeed hospital building in the Jabalia refugee camp on Monday, killing at least four people and wounding several others, and it quoted eyewitness Youssef Akasha describing “two consecutive explosions” after he heard a very loud explosion.
