Israeli drone strike on the Islamic University campus in Gaza City wounded five Palestinians. Israeli attacks across Gaza killed and injured Palestinians, with reports of casualties and ongoing strikes.
Drone strikes and deaths
Israeli drone strikes and gunfire killed Palestinians across Gaza on Sunday, October 25, 2026, including an Israeli drone strike that killed a Palestinian east of Deir al-Balah and the death of eight-year-old Fatima Hisham al-Bayouk from wounds sustained in Israeli gunfire the previous evening. Gaza’s Education Ministry listed Fatima among ten students killed in Israeli attacks and also reported the death of a teacher, while the Islamic University said an Israeli airstrike on its campus wounded five Palestinians and prompted the suspension of academic and administrative activities at its Gaza branch. Palestinian Civil Defense reported that a displaced Palestinian was killed in an Israeli drone strike in the al-Mazra’a area east of Deir al-Balah, and Palestine Post identified him as Hamdan Salman Abu Amra, 33.
Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that hospitals had received the bodies of four Palestinians killed and 14 wounded Palestinians during the preceding 24 hours, and it put the cumulative toll since October 7, 2023, at 74,544 Palestinians killed and 175,692 wounded. Al Jazeera reported that Fatima died on Sunday after being seriously wounded by Israeli gunfire on Saturday evening in Deir al-Balah, and it said Fatima had been her family’s sole survivor after an Israeli bombing destroyed their home in late 2023.

Campus attack and hospital transfers
The Islamic University said five Palestinians were wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting its campus, southwest of Gaza City, and Quds News Network and the Palestinian Information Center reported that some of the wounded were in critical condition. Quds News described a drone strike on a gathering of students inside the campus, while Arab48 placed the attack near the western gate and Palestine Post reported damage to a building and several vehicles. The university said it suspended academic and administrative activities at its Gaza branch on Sunday following the attack, and Al-Araby al-Jadeed reported that students were evacuated and the wounded were taken to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society’s as-Saraya field hospital.
Israeli forces also demolished residential buildings in Gaza City’s eastern at-Tuffah neighborhood, and Shehab News Agency reported two demolition explosions there at dawn on Sunday. WAFA said medical sources told it that a Palestinian was killed and five others injured in an Israeli strike on the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, and it also said several Palestinians, some in critical condition, were injured when an Israeli drone targeted a gathering of civilians near Hamad Hospital, northwest of Gaza City.

Ceasefire violations and wider toll
Yeni Şafak English said four Palestinians were killed in the latest Israeli Gaza attacks on Saturday, including a child in Deir al-Balah and a woman killed west of Khan Younis, while it also described drone-fired explosives and gunfire across Gaza City and refugee camps. Ultima Hora said at least two Palestinian civilians, one of them a girl, died in new Israeli forces strikes despite the ceasefire reached in October 2025 following the proposal by United States President Donald Trump regarding the territory’s future. The Gaza Health Ministry, controlled by Hamas, raised the toll to 74,540 Palestinian deaths and 175,678 wounded since the war began on October 7, 2023, and it said that, of this total, 1,547 people have died and 5,559 have been injured since the start of the ceasefire signed in October 2025.
IMEMC News said Gunfire, artillery shelling and residential demolitions continued elsewhere across the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire, and it reported that Israeli naval vessels fired toward northern Gaza City and offshore from the al-Shati refugee camp. Wikālat al-Raʾī al-Filastīnīyah marked the assault as 17 days in a row of Israeli occupation’s gross aggression on the Gaza Strip, and it said the aggression resulted in the deaths of dozens of martyrs, including children, women, and the elderly, and hundreds injured.
