Israeli Forces Open Fire in Ramallah, Arrest Palestinians in West Bank Raids

Raids across Ramallah, Jenin
Israeli forces opened fire in the center of Ramallah and conducted searches, raids, and arrests in towns and villages across the occupied West Bank, including detention of Palestinians and assault them. A Reuters correspondent said forces entered the center of Ramallah, while local sources to WAFA reported that forces spread in Ramallah and al-Bireh and fired tear gas, with no injuries or arrests reported. Israeli forces raided Qabatiya, Ajja and the village of Masliah in Jenin Governorate, and WAFA sources said forces raided houses in Qabatiya, turning one into a military camp.
Israeli forces arrested three civilians in Masliah, and WAFA reported that a young man was transported to the hospital after being beaten and found unconscious after the forces withdrew. In Nablus, Israeli occupation forces arrested the minor Mahmoud Zahir (17 years old) after raiding the town of Beita south of the city.
Detentions, injuries, and raids
WAFA reported that Israeli occupation forces detained four Palestinians and ransacked homes in multiple predawn raids across the occupied West Bank, including rounding up three Palestinians from Misilya village south of Jenin. WAFA said Israeli forces held and interrogated Palestinians in Qabatiya before releasing them in the morning hours, and WAFA added that the soldiers severely assaulted a young man requiring hospitalization. Anadolu Ajansı reported that about 15 military vehicles accompanied by more than 30 soldiers entered Azun through its northern entrance and raided multiple homes across neighborhoods including Al Mansour, Khallat al Darba, Shamiya and Al Ghanawi.
Anadolu Ajansı said the Israeli army detained over 150 Palestinians during the town’s raid, grouping some inside a house transformed into a military barracks and subjecting them to field questioning before gradually releasing them. Al Jazeera Net reported that Israeli forces also raided the town of Salfit northeast of Ramallah, with no arrests reported, and it said Israeli forces raided the city of Beit Sahour and the town of Nahalin with no arrests reported.

The Palestinian Center for Information said Israeli occupation forces launched a campaign of invasions and raids at dawn on Friday that affected towns, villages, and areas in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, including house searches. The Palestinian Center for Information reported that occupation forces penetrated Aboud northwest of Ramallah, the town of Salfit northeast of the city, and the Taybeh neighborhood in Ramallah, while a house was raided during the invasion of Ain Miṣbaḥ neighborhood. The Palestinian Center for Information said settlers attacked a girl near the Carmiel checkpoint east of Ramallah, and it reported that in occupied Jerusalem occupation forces raided Silwan and the Ain al-Luzah neighborhood south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
SANA reported that Israeli occupation forces arrested a 17-year-old Palestinian after raiding his family’s home in Beita south of Nablus and detained three others in Qabatiya, Mislaya village and Ajja town south of Jenin during raids and searches. The West Bank has been witnessing an escalation in raids and arrests by Israeli forces since October 2023, coinciding with rising settler terrorism, movement restrictions, and closure of entrances to Palestinian towns and villages, according to Al-Jazeera Net.
