Surif raid, cars burned
Israeli settlers raided the West Bank Palestinian town of Surif overnight Friday-Saturday, where they attacked residents, set fire to cars and damaged property, according to Israeli authorities and Palestinian media.

The IDF said Saturday morning it received a report of three Palestinians wounded after being attacked by Israelis in Surif, west of Hebron, and dispatched troops to the area.
The Times of Israel said the troops located cars that were set on fire, along with Hebrew graffiti sprayed on a structure, and that no arrests were made as the settlers apparently fled before the IDF arrived.
In a separate account, the Jerusalem Post said three Palestinians were slightly injured during an Israeli settler extremist attack on Surif overnight on Saturday, and that the extremists allegedly set fire to buildings and cars and attacked Palestinians with clubs and tear gas.
The Jerusalem Post added that IDF troops were dispatched shortly after the attack to search for suspects and collect evidence, and that the troops located the burned vehicles and graffiti but no arrests were made in connection with the attack.
Accountability and investigations
The Times of Israel reported that Israel Police said officers entered Surif on Saturday morning escorted by the IDF to collect evidence and testimony for the investigation.
Israel Police added, "The Israel Police and security forces view such cases of violence and causing damage gravely and will continue to act decisively and professionally to locate those involved, investigate them, and bring them to justice," as the investigation continued.
The Jerusalem Post said Israel Police opened an investigation into the incident, and that officers from the Judea and Samaria District began collecting evidence and testimonies.
The Jerusalem Post also described a prior case in Huwara, saying that on Wednesday security officials arrested an Israeli resident of the West Bank for allegedly participating in a similar violent extremist attack on Palestinians in Huwara in June.
The Jerusalem Post further said that on Monday the IDF deployed two extra battalions to the West Bank to curb recent escalation in extremist settler violence and Palestinian terrorist attacks.
Wider pattern and risks
Beyond Surif, the Times of Israel said the latest incidents came a week after two Israelis and four Palestinians were killed in a gunfight that erupted when settlers entered the West Bank town of Tell.

The Times of Israel also cited a pattern of near-daily attacks in the West Bank, saying critics accuse the government of condoning or even encouraging the attacks.
In a separate report, Al-Arabiya TV said settlers stormed the towns of Surif and Tel in the West Bank and carried out attacks that targeted Palestinian property.
Al-Arabiya TV reported that Israeli occupation forces notified the seizure of the home of martyr Farouk Ramadan in the town of Tel, and handed his family a notice to evacuate within 72 hours in preparation for implementing the demolition order.
The Times of Israel linked the broader context to recorded violence, saying the military recorded 867 incidents of nationalistic crime and settler violence in 2025, up from 682 incidents in 2024.
