Ceasefire Violations Continue
Israeli strikes and continued demolitions in Gaza killed at least one Palestinian and injured several others as the Israeli army carried out “latest reported violations of the ceasefire in force since October 2025,” according to Anadolu Ajansı as cited by Middle East Monitor.
The Middle East Monitor report says a medical source told Anadolu that the body of Mohammad Najib Ashour and several wounded were taken to Al-Shifa Hospital and Al-Ahli Arab Hospital after an Israeli drone strike targeted a young man riding a bicycle near the Asqula junction in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.

Gaza’s Health Ministry, as quoted by Middle East Monitor, said seven Palestinians were killed and nine more bodies were recovered over the past 48 hours, while 16 others were injured, and it put the overall death toll from Israel’s war on Gaza since October 2023 at 73,090 with 173,553 injured.
The report also says Israeli artillery shelled the Al-Salatin area west of Beit Lahia, accompanied by heavy gunfire from military vehicles, and that Israeli forces expanded control to around 70% of Gaza’s territory, confining Palestinians to less than 30% of the strip.
In parallel, TRT World reported that “Seven more Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza over the past 48 hours,” while bodies of nine other victims were recovered from beneath the rubble and 16 wounded people were received by hospitals.
Competing Death Totals
While multiple outlets cited Gaza Health Ministry figures for the past 48 hours, they differed on the total number of Palestinians killed or recovered, with Oz Arab Media reporting “At least 16 Palestinians have been reported killed in Israeli attacks or recovered from rubble over the past 48 hours,” and TRT World saying seven were killed in attacks with nine bodies recovered from rubble.
TRT World’s account specifies that hospitals received the bodies of six people killed in recent attacks, one person who later succumbed to wounds, and nine bodies recovered from the rubble, alongside 16 wounded people, while the ministry did not specify the circumstances surrounding the deaths and injuries.

In a separate development, the BBC reported that a UN-backed independent inquiry panel “accuses Israel of genocide in the Palestinian territory by deliberately targeting children,” and it quoted Sreenivasan Moralidhar saying, “even after the ceasefire agreement in October 2025, children are being killed and seriously injured.”
The BBC also states that the Israeli Foreign Ministry rejected the panel’s report as “a defamatory smear and as horrendous propaganda like its predecessor,” while the inquiry panel said killings continued even after the Gaza ceasefire last October.
Together, the accounts place the same ceasefire period under scrutiny both for ongoing strikes and for the UN panel’s findings about deliberate targeting of children.
Control, Displacement, and Costs
As the ceasefire remained in force, TRT Français reported that Israeli air raids killed five Palestinians in Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis, and it quotes Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense, saying that “three people were killed, including a child, and five were injured” after an Israeli drone strike targeted a group of civilians near the Wadi al-Salqah bridge.
“Gaza / Mohammed Majed / Anadolu According to the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate: - Israel has killed 265 journalists, including about 27 female journalists, and wounded around 500 and arrested more than 34 during a thousand days of war on Gaza”
TRT Français also says an Israeli strike hit a tent on the coast of Khan Younis near the Nas Junction west of Khan Younis, with an eyewitness describing the bombing “like an earthquake” as children were playing by the sea, resulting in a large number of injuries and martyrs.
In a separate report, TRT World said the ceasefire agreement was reached after two years of Israel’s military offensive in Gaza that caused widespread destruction and damaged about 90 percent of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure, and it adds that the UN has estimated reconstruction costs at around $70 billion.
TRT Français further frames the ongoing stakes by reporting that the Gaza Strip has lived since October last year under a ceasefire that has seen ongoing violations, with more than a thousand Palestinians killed as Israel and Hamas trade accusations over ceasefire violations.
Meanwhile, TRT Français and TRT World both describe a shifting control picture, with TRT World noting Israeli army violations of the ceasefire have killed 1,066 people and wounded 3,445 others since the truce took effect in October 2025, and TRT Français describing near-daily bombardment and ground incursions despite the ceasefire.
