Trailer, Premiere, Trilogy End
Marvel Television released a new trailer for VisionQuest, an all-new original series premiering October 14 exclusively on Disney+. Paul Bettany returns as Vision in the rebooted series, which follows Vision as he is on the run with a boy who may be his son reincarnate. James Spader voices Ultron in the Disney+ limited series that concludes the trilogy begun with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along.
Marvel’s premise says Vision has escaped the people who wanted to weaponize him and has been in hiding, until a bounty on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepherd. Terry Matalas created the series for television, based on the Marvel Comics, and Marvel’s trailer positions VisionQuest as the final chapter of the trilogy.

AI Personas and Ultron
VisionQuest’s official premise has Vision consulting the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron.
In the latest trailer coverage, Ultron taunts Vision with the line, "That dead witch really did a number on you," in reference to Wanda Maximoff’s bitter end.

Vision responds by remarking, "Ultron, you are impossibly cruel and callous," as the trailer frames Ultron as returning to haunt Vision’s search for answers.
Entertainment Weekly also describes the series as beginning with Vision grappling with the truth of his past, while a bounty pushes him into a more visible world.
The trailer coverage also says VisionQuest will hit Disney+ on Oct. 14, with the story continuing the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along.
Cast, Creators, and Context
VisionQuest’s cast includes Paul Bettany as Vision and James Spader as Ultron, with Ruaridh Mollica appearing as Thomas Shepherd in the Disney+ series.
The series is directed by Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali, and Terry Matalas, and it is written by Terry Matalas, Cindy Appel, Christopher Monfette, Nicole Falsetti, and Matthew Okumura.
Marvel’s trailer materials also describe Thomas Shepherd as a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s reincarnated son, and they frame Vision as having all of his former self’s memories but none of his virtue.
Marvel Unlimited characterizes the show as reuniting Vision with Ultron, describing Spader as reprising his role as the maniacal artificial intelligence better known as Ultron.
Disney’s Hulu tie-in also appears in the lead-up, with WandaVision described as streaming on Hulu for a limited time starting today ahead of the October 14 premiere.
