An Anadolu Ajansı report tied Asif’s remarks to Naqvi’s meeting in Tehran as Islamabad renewed its push to resolve the Hormuz standoff and restart stalled talks.

The same Anadolu Ajansı account said a Pakistani government source told it that Naqvi would share "some new proposals" with Iranian leadership to resolve the standoff, without providing details of the proposals.

As Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said the United States and Iran were close to “some sort of arrangement” over the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian officials stressed that reopening the waterway remained conditional on ending the war, changing Washington’s behavior, and releasing frozen funds.
