Nexo Credit Lines in Australia
Nexo Australia has launched regulated crypto-backed Credit Lines in Australia after securing appointment as a Credit Representative under Australia’s National Consumer Credit Protection Act, with the company saying the credit lines allow eligible clients to borrow Australian dollars or stablecoins against their digital assets without selling them.
“Funds are generally available within 24 hours with flexible repayments, with no fixed term or origination fees.”
The rollout, described as operating under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, lets funds be generally available within 24 hours with flexible repayments, with no fixed term or origination fees, and advertised annual interest rates ranging from 0.9% to 21.9% depending on the credit line and the customer’s loyalty tier.

Nexo says its Credit Lines include Collateral Exchange, allowing clients to swap between eligible collateral assets without interrupting an existing Credit Line, and it also offers the Nexo Booster feature that can magnify digital-asset exposure by up to three times using newly acquired positions as collateral.
In addition to borrowing, Nexo’s Australian offering includes Nexo Growth, which advertises returns of up to 10% annually on supported assets, with Flexible Growth accruing returns daily and Fixed-term Growth requiring a defined commitment period for a higher advertised rate.
Nexo Australia’s structure is also tied to dispute-resolution and compliance infrastructure, with the company saying it is registered with AUSTRAC as a virtual asset service provider and is a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).
How Nexo says it works
Nexo’s General Manager for Australia, Peter Stanhope, told Cointelegraph that “The main differences are in rates, asset selection, and how client collateral is managed if their [loan-to-value ratio] rises,” describing how Smart and Standard credit lines diverge.
Cointelegraph also quotes Nexo’s position that borrowing against digital assets carries margin-call and liquidation risks, meaning clients could lose some or all of their collateral if its value falls.

Finance.biggo says Nexo Australia operates under Credit Representative Number 580430 and that its regulated credit products are provided by Nexo Individual Loans Pty Ltd and serviced by Avgi Pty Ltd, which holds Australian Credit Licence 567308.
Finance.biggo adds that becoming a credit representative does not mean Nexo Australia holds its own Australian credit licence, and it points to guidance from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission allowing authorized activities on behalf of an existing licensee.
Altcoin Buzz says Nexo’s Credit Lines also provide payouts in either Australian dollars (AUD) or stablecoins and that Australian customers receive a dedicated AUD account number for deposits, intended to reduce transfer delays and errors.
Regulatory and market stakes
The launch positions Nexo as one of the few crypto platforms offering regulated crypto-backed credit lines to Australian users, with Cointelegraph noting that in May 2026 Block Earner became the first crypto company in Australia to secure its own Australian Credit License from ASIC.
“In May 2026, Block Earner became the first crypto company in Australia to secure its own Australian Credit License from ASIC.”
Cointelegraph frames the product’s regulatory basis through Australia’s National Consumer Credit Protection Act and says Nexo Australia is registered with AUSTRAC as a virtual asset service provider and is a member of AFCA.
The Defiant, via a Chainwire press release, says Nexo’s Credit Lines are launched “within Australia’s consumer credit framework” and that the milestone makes Nexo “one of a small number of digital asset platforms offering a regulated crypto-backed credit in Australia.”
The Defiant also states that Nexo’s Credit Lines, together with the Nexo Booster and Wealth Club loyalty programme, join Nexo’s existing Nexo Exchange and the newly rebranded Growth product under one unified platform in Australia.
Altcoin Buzz says Nexo’s expansion is aimed at integrating borrowing, earning and digital-asset management through a single platform, and it cites Nexo’s claim that nearly one in three Australians owns cryptocurrency alongside Australia recording A$9.8 billion in new personal fixed-term loan commitments in the March quarter of 2026, up 14.5% from the same quarter a year earlier.
