Biddu raids and arrests
Israeli occupation forces arrested 13 Palestinians from various areas in the West Bank while continuing raids on the village of Bidu near Jerusalem for the second day in a row. The Al-Jazira Net account said arrests occurred in the northern West Bank in Jenin Governorate, affecting seven Palestinians including two women, and five citizens from Tulkarem Governorate, plus a resident of al-Khalil (Hebron) in the southern West Bank. The Jerusalem Governorate said occupation forces continued to raid the town of Biddu northwest of occupied Jerusalem and that the arrests affected at least 53 youths.
Nizamani Mansour, the head of Biddu Municipality, told Al Jazeera that the occupation had turned several houses in the town into detention centers and that residents were staying in their homes amid a state of fear and anticipation. The Al-Jazira Net account said occupation forces transported detainees to a center for interrogation established inside one of the houses it seized during the raid.

Shooting near Neve Tzuf
Israeli officials said a suspected Palestinian gunman shot dead an Israeli man near a spring close to the settlement of Neve Tzuf, roughly a dozen miles north of Jerusalem, on the eve of Yom Kippur. France 24 reported that the gunman opened fire from his vehicle at Israelis gathered at a spring near Neve Tzuf, and it said the gunman was located at a Ramallah hospital and arrested, police said. The Globe and Mail said medics arrived at the scene and found a man in a car suffering from critical gunshot wounds, and it said the man was pronounced dead at hospital, police said.
Israeli soldiers then killed a Palestinian motorist whom the military said was attempting to run them over, and France 24 said the flare up came on the eve of Yom Kippur. The New York Times reported that the Israeli military and police arrested a suspect at a hospital in the nearby Palestinian city of Ramallah and that they did not immediately name him or provide further details about him.

Raids, road closures, and response
An Anadolu Ajansı report said Israeli forces conducted raids across the occupied West Bank late Sunday, arresting two Palestinians, including a child, while Palestinian state media reported separate attacks by Israeli occupiers and road closures. The report said Wafa reported raids in Tuqu, south of Bethlehem, where soldiers fired live ammunition and arrested a child and a young man after searching their family homes. Anadolu Ajansı said tear gas was fired near homes and at civilian vehicles at the Jaba checkpoint, and it reported that no injuries or arrests were reported in those incidents.
France 24 said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed security agencies to beef up their forces and carry out arrests and offensive activities in the area following the shootings. The Al-Jazira Net account said the West Bank had witnessed an escalation in raids and arrests by Israeli forces since October 2023, alongside rising settler violence, movement restrictions, and the closure of entrances to towns and villages in Palestine.
