Ondo tokenizes U.S. assets
Ondo Finance launched tokenized versions of BlackRock’s iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) and Micron Technology (MU) in the U.S. on Thursday, using a third-party custodial model outlined by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in January.
“Next week could be decisive for XRP”
The products use a custodial model in which a third party holds the underlying securities and issues crypto assets representing investor entitlement, while the underlying shares remain inside the normal U.S. custody chain.

Oasis Pro TA mints tokens backed 1:1 by the underlying securities, and Ondo said the tokenized IVV product was issued on Ethereum.
Broadridge will manage proxy voting for Ondo token holders through ProxyVote.com, and Ondo said the structure keeps the product inside existing market systems.
Governance and communications
Ondo said the governance features will accompany the launch of its first U.S. custodial tokenized securities, including tokenized versions of BlackRock’s iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) and Micron Technology (MU).
TradingView said holders of more than 250 tokenized securities issued through Ondo will be able to participate in proxy voting and access corporate communications, including regulatory filings and other shareholder documents.

Doug DeSchutter, President of Broadridge’s Investor Communication Solutions business, said, "By enabling proxy voting, issuer communications, and regulatory disclosures for Ondo's token holders, we're living up to our promise".
Ian De Bode framed the move as a regulatory and market milestone, saying, "Today’s milestone shows we can tokenize securities in ways that meet both market and regulatory requirements," and he added that it supports broader onchain investment access.
SEC framework and market reach
The launch is presented as the first production deployment of the SEC’s third-party custodial model for tokenized securities, with underlying shares never leaving the traditional custody chain while tokens representing entitlement trade on Ethereum.
“Ondo Finance ha tokenizado por primera vez valores estadounidenses dentro del marco normativo vigente, utilizando como primera operación el fondo cotizado en bolsa (ETF) iShares Core S&P 500 de Blackrock y las acciones de Micron”
Bitcoin News said Ondo’s Global Markets platform has already tokenized more than 1 000 millones de dólares in more than 430 acciones y ETF in the extranjero, and it said Broadridge will handle voting-by-proxy and communications for token holders.
Cointelegraph reported that Ondo said the assets are the first issued under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's third-party custodial framework for tokenized securities.
Separately, the crypto market context in the sources points to ongoing momentum for tokenized equities, with Cointelegraph citing that the market for tokenized stocks has grown to $1.67 billion with nearly 181,000 unique holders.
