Portugal birth announced
Princess Eugenie has given birth to a baby girl in Portugal, with Buckingham Palace confirming the safe arrival on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal.

The palace statement said the baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces, and it added that “Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”
The new baby is the third child for Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, and she is a younger sibling to August, five, and Ernest, three.
GB News also reported that the baby’s name is yet to be decided, while the palace announcement said the birth took place in Lisbon rather than at Portland Hospital in London where Eugenie delivered her first two children.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were “delighted” at the news, according to a post from the palace on social media, and the statement also said other members of the Royal Family were informed.
Princess Eugenie, 36, shared the announcement on Instagram with a photograph taken by Jack Brooksbank, writing: “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie.”
The reports said the couple are taking time to decide on the name of their daughter, while they continue to split their time between Ivy Cottage in Kensington Palace and a private residence in Portugal.
People also noted that Eugenie and Jack welcomed their two sons in London at Portland Hospital, and that the birth of their daughter in Lisbon makes her the first child of the couple to be born abroad.

The birth was reported as arriving as the York family remained linked to headlines involving Jeffrey Epstein, with Nine.au saying Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on February 19, his 66th birthday, and later released.
Nine.au also said the former Duke and Duchess of York were stripped of their royal titles by King Charles in October last year because of their links to Epstein, and it reported that Beatrice and Eugenie had remained largely out of the spotlight since the scandal engulfed their parents.
