Raids, Detentions, Demolitions
Israeli occupation forces demolished dozens of Palestinian homes and facilities in Masafer Yatta in the southern Hebron area and in the city of Jerusalem, and they detained 13 Palestinians in separate incursions. Heavy equipment, including excavators and bulldozers, entered the village of Jinba in Masafer Yatta in the southern West Bank and carried out wide-scale demolitions, according to witnesses cited by Al-Jazirah Net.
Ali al-Jabarin said at least 10 homes and several sheds used to shelter livestock, sheep pens, and water storage wells were demolished, and he described what is happening as a “great catastrophe,” as fodder and sheds housing about 3,000 head of livestock were destroyed. WAFA reported the arrest of 13 Palestinians last night and this morning during incursions in various areas of the West Bank, including five from the Nablus Governorate, and it said the campaign in Beituna (Beit Dqou) west of Jerusalem involved a heavy army presence and raids on several homes.
Beit Duqqu, Nabi Saleh
Israeli forces raided several areas across the occupied West Bank early Wednesday, arresting at least two Palestinians, according to WAFA as cited by Anadolu Ajansı. Anadolu Ajansı said ten military jeeps were used to raid the village of Beit Duqqu, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, and troops deployed across the village raided several homes and arrested a number of residents before withdrawing.
In Nabi Saleh, northwest of Ramallah, Israeli forces raided and searched a home and arrested a 19-year-old Palestinian, and Israeli forces also raided the city of Tubas and the nearby town of Aqaba with infantry units deployed in several neighborhoods. In the northern Tulkarem area, Israeli forces raided the towns of Attil and Deir al-Ghusun early Wednesday with several military vehicles and infantry units, and local sources said troops patrolled the towns, raided and searched several homes, and damaged their contents.
A System of Elimination
Al Jazeera described a pattern in which Israeli forces and settlers dismantle Palestinian life across the occupied West Bank, citing B’Tselem’s report “The Elimination Project” and its argument that the reality is “an accelerated and explicit phase in an ongoing project of elimination”. B’Tselem’s report said it drew on nearly 2,000 Palestinian testimonies and described a “comprehensive mechanism of elimination” that erodes institutions, economy, freedom of movement, and social life.
The report said Israel had at least 925 physical obstacles set up across the West Bank by December 2025, and it said unemployment at the end of last year had roughly doubled to 27.5 percent compared to October 2023. B’Tselem said the mechanism is driven by “settler-colonial logic of dispossession, displacement, and the establishment of Jewish-Israeli sovereignty,” and it traced that logic to the 2017 “Decisive Plan” authored by Bezalel Smotrich, now Israel’s finance minister.
