Trump’s AI Force Plan
President Donald Trump said he will create an “AI Force” and appoint an “AI Czar,” writing on Truth Social that “We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry.”

Trump compared the planned effort to how he formed Space Force, saying, “For this purpose, I am forming the AI Force, much like I did Space Force, which has been a tremendous SUCCESS, in my First Term.”

In the same Truth Social post, Trump said the government would use existing criminal and civil justice systems to address wrongdoing, adding, “we will also be looking for BAD, and we can do that, very easily, with our already existing Criminal and Civil Justice System.”
Trump also tied the initiative to economic scale, calling AI “the next Industrial Revolution, or Internet,” and saying it could possibly account for as much as 25% of U.S. gross domestic product.
Calls for Regulation, Dismissed
The announcement landed amid debate in the United States over AI risks and calls for a slowdown, with Hindustan Times describing industry leaders warning about dangers of developing AI too fast.
Trump dismissed those concerns as a hoax, saying, “We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry,” while also arguing that fears over AI amount to a hoax.

Hindustan Times reported that Trump had previously written that the only guardrail AI needs is a “STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT,” and that “U.S.A. has that, in spades!”
The same coverage said former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon warned earlier that people developing AI seriously believe the technology could pose an existential threat within the decade, while Trump repeatedly downplayed those risks.
China Race and Next Steps
India Today said Trump’s AI czar and AI force plans come as Washington debates AI risks and the US-China contest intensifies, with the announcement ahead of a scheduled meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday.

India Today also reported that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is scheduled to meet Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng on Sunday at JPMorgan Chase's headquarters in New York, with discussions expected to cover AI security and trade.
The CNN report said the Trump administration will convene a high-level event on AI on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, and that a day later several technology executives including OpenAI’s Sam Altman, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and Google’s Sundar Pichai would attend a state dinner at the White House as part of Xi Jinping’s visit.
CNN added that a White House official said AI safety would be “on the agenda” when Trump meets with Xi, even as Trump’s post emphasized that the administration would “watch over” AI as it grows.
