XRP lags despite inflows

XRP dropped about 5% to $1.03 last week even as bitcoin, ether and solana climbed and the broader crypto market added 1.4% to push total market capitalization to $2.19 trillion.

CoinDesk said XRP exchange-traded funds still attracted net investor capital for a fourth consecutive week, but inflows slowed sharply, collapsing roughly 93% week-over-week to around $1 million, according to data source SoSoValue.

Pluang reported that Canary Capital’s XRP ETF ended June 2026 with $241.2 million in assets, down $81.6 million from December 2025 despite $82.4 million net capital share inflows.

In the same period, KuCoin said the fund’s unaudited Form 10-Q showed net assets declining from $322.8 million at Dec. 31, 2025, to $241.2 million at June 30, 2026, with unrealized XRP depreciation overwhelming net share activity.

Regulatory delay and debate

CoinDesk tied the price apathy to regulatory uncertainty, saying the Senate has delayed consideration of the CLARITY Act and that the vote is not expected until mid-September at the earliest.

Pluang similarly said XRP is trading just above $1 and struggling to break out due to a sharp decline in ETF inflows and ongoing uncertainty around U.S. crypto regulation.

In an email, Iliya Kalchev, analyst at Nexo, argued that “XRP’s positioning looks patient in its own right, with order flow staying large even as volume metrics turn neutral.”

CoinDesk also quoted Jake Claver, chairman of Digital Ascension Group, saying “XRP is looking more and more like it will claim its spot as a global bridge asset and possibly be recognized by the BIS as tier-one asset in the future,” referring to the Bank for International Settlements’ highest capital classification.

What comes next

Several outlets framed the next test as whether XRP can hold or reclaim key levels while institutional demand thins, with BigGo Finance saying the token is clinging to the psychologically critical $1 level.

BigGo Finance reported that during the first full week of August the XRP ETF complex attracted a net $1 million, while investors yanked $3.58 million on Wednesday before net subscriptions of $1.15 million on Monday and $3.45 million on Thursday.

TradingView warned that XRP price is under pressure as institutional demand appears to weaken, saying weekly XRP ETF inflows reportedly plunged 93% to just $1.01 million, down from $14.86 million a week earlier.

CoinDesk added that the underperformance is puzzling because XRP ETFs still attracted net investor capital for a fourth consecutive week, even as it said the Senate’s CLARITY Act delay was expected to land no earlier than mid-September.
