Saudi Warplanes Carry Out 52 Airstrikes, Missile Strikes Across Yemen, Yahya Saree Says
Saudi warplanes and missiles conducted 52 strikes in 24 hours from Khamis Mushait and Taif. Airstrikes hit Al-Mukha in Taiz, causing civilian casualties including six fatalities.

Saudi strikes across Saada
Yemeni media said Saudi missile strikes targeted various areas in the border districts of Marran, Haydan, and Al-Dhahir, west of Saada Governorate in northern Yemen. Yemeni Military Spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said via Telegram that the Saudi warplanes carried out 52 airstrikes and missile strikes over the past 24 hours. General Saree added that the missile attacks were launched from Jizan and that the strikes targeted the governorates of Al-Hudaydah, Taiz, Al-Bayda, Ma’rib, and Saada.
General Saree said the strikes left martyrs and wounded, including women and children, and caused destruction to civilian infrastructure, including telecommunications networks, schools, bridges, roads, and others. General Saree said the total number of Saudi aggression airstrikes and missile strikes since the escalation began had reached 988.
Competing death tolls
Houthi-run media and officials said Saudi strikes from Monday night through Tuesday killed at least 17 people and wounded 11 others. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said in a statement on social media platform X that the strikes targeted the southwestern province of Taiz, the northern province of Al-Jawf, and the northeastern oil-rich province of Marib. OrissaPOST said Saudi airstrikes and missile attacks hit Houthi-held areas across western, southwestern and northern Yemen, with casualties reported in the Red Sea province of Hodeidah.
OrissaPOST reported that the Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV said "Saudi aggression warplanes" carried out around 15 airstrikes across Hodeidah Wednesday, targeting telecommunications infrastructure and other facilities. OrissaPOST said the channel added that at least two people were killed and four others wounded in Wednesday’s strikes in Hodeidah, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Displacement warning and UK support
The UN Refugee Agency warned that the number of displaced people could rise to 230,000 if fighting between the Yemeni government forces backed by Saudi Arabia and the Iran-aligned Houthi militias continues. Democracy Now! said the UN warning came as Yemen's armed forces claimed to have attacked Houthi soldiers and supply routes near the Bab al-Mandab strait. British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said on Monday that the United Kingdom agreed to provide limited military support to Saudi Arabia to repel attacks by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Burnham told reporters that he had agreed that the Royal Air Force would provide in-flight refueling to Saudi aircraft, and he said the agreement is for a matter of weeks. Burnham said he acted "to safeguard the interests of the United Kingdom and the region in general, because, of course, Saudi Arabia has suffered attacks, is facing a potential major disruption, and we need to keep those routes (for oil) open."
