About this analysis

Haaretz reports, in the one sentence of text available, that the Israeli military launched a raid on Hebron after Palestinian assailants killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded three near the city. The rest of the page is subscription and navigation text. Nothing in the reporting that is present misleads the reader.

What it gets right

  • “the Israeli military announced late on Friday that it has launched a raid on the Palestinian city”

Haaretz names the Israeli military as the actor and calls the action a raid, not a security operation. It also attributes the expected duration to the military's own announcement.

  • “a shooting by Palestinian assailants that killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded three others”

The outlet states who fired and who was killed and wounded in plain words, with no euphemism for the deaths.
