Iran’s top security official says the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, will bring pride to the Islamic Republic and lead to the defeat of its adversaries through his “complete oversight” and “wise leadership.” Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Major General Mohsen Rezaei, made the remark in a post on his X account on Friday. He commended Ayatollah Khamenei’s complete oversight of the country’s various cultural, military, political, economic and social affairs.

He added that the Leader’s authoritative and wise leadership, along with his deep concern for addressing the problems facing the Iranian people, would be a source of pride for the country and help bring about the defeat of its enemies. Rezaei’s post came few days after Ayatollah Khamenei said the SNSC and its secretariat act as a “crossroads of policymaking.” During a Tuesday meeting with the SNSC secretary, the Leader underscored the interconnectedness of culture, politics, economy and security and said it was imperative that their mutual effects be accounted for in decision-making.

About this analysis

Press TV reports a post on X by Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, praising Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei's leadership, and notes an earlier meeting between the two. The praise and the claims about defeating adversaries are attributed to Rezaei throughout, and the article states nothing contested in its own voice. Nothing in it misleads the reader.

What it gets right

  • “Iran’s top security official says”

The article opens by marking the praise and the prediction of victory over adversaries as one official's statement, not as the outlet's own claim.

  • “made the remark in a post on his X account on Friday”

The article names the speaker, his post and the platform, so the reader knows exactly where the claim comes from.

  • “He added that”

The article keeps the attribution on Rezaei's further claims about pride and the defeat of enemies, rather than letting them pass into its own voice.
