Araghchi calls Munir
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke by phone with Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, to discuss “regional developments and diplomatic efforts,” according to a post on Araghchi’s Telegram channel.
“Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke by phone Wednesday with Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir”
Mehr News Agency said the call was held on Wednesday evening and that both sides reviewed “the latest regional developments” and discussed ways to advance political and diplomatic solutions.

The same phone diplomacy was described by APA’s Tehran bureau as Araghchi and Munir discussing “regional developments and diplomatic efforts,” with the Iranian foreign minister’s remarks attributed to his Telegram channel.
In a separate Iranian foreign ministry readout carried by Anadolu Ajansı, Munir and Araghchi discussed “ways to strengthen peace, stability and security in West Asia,” as they sought to revive stalled direct talks with the US.
Talks with the US
Anadolu Ajansı reported that Munir and Araghchi discussed “ways to revive long-stalled direct talks with the US to end the months-long war,” while the Iranian government said the call covered regional security challenges and strategies for reinforcing stability.
The article said the US and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding on June 17 and launched negotiations toward a final agreement, but talks later stalled over “disagreements on security guarantees and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.”

Arab News PK said Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei described an imminent US announcement of new economic sanctions as an “assertion of extraterritorial sovereignty over every independent member state of the United Nations.”
Arab News PK also tied the diplomatic push to the interim deal known as Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on June 18, which set a 60-day period expected to end with a final deal limiting Tehran’s nuclear program and lifting US sanctions.
Munir to Tehran
Iranian state media and foreign ministry statements said Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir would travel to Tehran on Monday to meet senior Iranian officials, with the visit framed as part of efforts to reinforce bilateral cooperation and regional peace.
“continue Pakistan's "good offices" in helping to strengthen peace and security in the region”
Mehr News Agency reported that Foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said the trip was part of Pakistan’s “good offices” in helping to strengthen peace and security in the region, and that Munir would meet senior Iranian officials during the visit.
Middle East Monitor similarly said Baqaei announced Munir’s Monday visit to Tehran and that the delegation’s aim was to bolster bilateral cooperation and build on “Pakistan’s efforts to help strengthen peace and security in the region.”
The same reporting placed the visit against a backdrop in which the US and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding on June 17, launched negotiations, and then stalled over “freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz,” while the two sides exchanged military strikes between July 8 and July 24.
