Iran’s Araghchi Meets Spain’s Albares Bueno in New York, Urges Europe To Act Against US Aggression
Araghchi met Spain's foreign minister in New York to discuss West Asia. He urged Europe to act against US aggression and war crimes in Gaza and Iran.

Araghchi seeks European action
Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met and held talks with José Manuel Albares Bueno, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, in New York on Thursday morning during the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly. Araghchi stressed the importance of European countries adopting a responsible approach consistent with international law toward the US aggressive and unlawful actions against Iran.
Araghchi also underscored the responsibility of all states to stop what he described as the continued occupation and genocide of the Palestinians and Israel’s aggressive expansionism, and to hold the Zionist perpetrators accountable and punish them. Araghchi and Albares Bueno discussed and exchanged views on bilateral relations between Iran and Spain.
Pezeshkian vows strong response
President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that Tehran will respond "strongly and resolutely" if the United States seeks to continue its war of aggression, while he said Iran did not choose war and is not seeking one. Pezeshkian told Fox News’ Bret Baier that "We never initiated a war, but if they [US] wish to keep fighting with us, we will respond strongly and resolutely."
Pezeshkian said the US-Israeli war on Iran began with air raids on February 28 and that it assassinated a number of high-ranking Iranian officials and military commanders, along with more than 160 schoolchildren and staff in Minab. Pezeshkian said Tehran and Washington signed the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding on June 17 to end the war, but he said the US breached its commitments and ignited more rounds of fighting as the MoU collapsed.
Europe, NATO warned over support
Seyed Abbas Araghchi warned that the European Union and NATO should not facilitate or support Israeli and US military actions in Gaza and Iran, and he threatened that allies face "severe long-term consequences". Araghchi also wrote that "groveling never satisfies a bully," and he said the NATO Secretary General should know that after Rutte acknowledged around 5,000 flights from European bases in support of the US operation against Iran.
Araghchi’s warning came as WANA reported that Kazem Gharibabadi said Europe’s participation in the U.S. military aggression against Iran would not go unanswered after Mark Rutte acknowledged around 5,000 flights had been conducted from European bases. Gharibabadi said governments that made their territories available to the United States could not evade responsibility, and he said their participation would not go unanswered.
